    Quoted from Toasterdog:

We go through ketchup pretty quick in our house and fine restaurants everywhere leave it on the table, so yep we leave it in the pantry.
Just not a fan of cold ketchup.
What’s funny is Ive almost starated a post on this very question.
Another is leaving butter out of the fridge?
Or even double de-turding shrimp? I mean, butterflied shrimp are great, but go the extra mile and go completely turd free.

Butter on the counter. Easy to spread and use.

This is the best thing on pinside right now?

There’s enough high fructose corn syrup in Heinz to prevent any bacteria from growing. No refrigeration needed! Seek better quality ketchup.

    Quoted from TheLaw:

Maybe it's the real sugar vs HFC ?

Maybe not, since there is no difference in taste between "real" sugar and HFCS? Sugar is sugar.

Again, sugar is sugar. The ignorance about HFCS is pervasive.

    Here’s something

    365 ml Pepsi - 27 grams sugar
365 ml Heinz Ketchup - 78 grams sugar or so

Did we have this argument in another thread already?

Yes there is a difference in taste between refined sugar and HFCS, especially at different temperatures. So HFCS Ketchup will not taste as sweet as real sugar Ketchup at room temperature.

    grangeomatic - Canadian Heinz label!

Heinz is still boycotted in Ontario, Canada. French's has taken some of their market share.

Well now we know why it tastes so good.

Butter on the counter, ketchup in the fridge. But ketchup gets taken out at lunchtime if it's going to be used for dinner.

    Quoted from TKDalumni:

Ketchup or Catsup is the real question!

Many years ago, a kid in my fifth grade class lost a front tooth for calling ketchup catsup and a pinball machine a table.

Aah, that must be why I prefer my ketchup cold. That recent revelation did slip my mind.

But I thought people complained that Heinz is too sweet?

At any rate, sweetness is not the main point of ketchup like it is for Coke. I doubt the temperature/sweetness variance matters as much.

Yeah, let's all chug a can of that sweet, sweet ketchup, preferably at room temperature so it tastes as sweet as possible!

Seriously, one _serving_ of Heinz has 4 grams of sugar, a far cry from 78!

Ketchup is part of a new cleaning revolution......you don’t just store it in the cupboard, you use it to clean the cupboard. Hey, if it’s good to clean your metal pots and pans, it’s good to eat.

I left Heinz for Wegmans brand. I only mix Ketchup with Tabasco to dip well done tater tots.

Ketchup has no other use that I am aware of. Oh yeah, refrigerate that shit after opening.

I hate ketchup, way too sweet for me . A lot of sugar in it and it tastes horrible to me . Plenty of pasta sauces with tons of sugar also , I won’t go near those either . Don’t really care if it’s refrigerated or not , I’m not eating it either way .

    https://thrivecuisine.com/taste-test/what-does-banana-ketchup-taste-like/

“Banana ketchup, also known as banana sauce, comes from the Philippines and has essentially no banana flavor even though this fruit is its primary ingredient. Instead, it tastes quite like tomato ketchup.

This is because bottled banana ketchup has similar spices and ingredients, including sugar and vinegar, though chili spice and sometimes ginger are also used, making it sweet, acidic and mildly hot.”

Ketchup on the table every meal. It is my gravy. Heinz is my choice.

There are still many different types of ketchup. Two of the oldest are Walnut Ketchup and Mushroom Ketchup. These have been joined now by more exotic ingredients such as Mango Ketchup, and Baron's Banana Ketchup, made in St Lucia. Brits are still culturally aware of the different kinds that are possible.Sep 16, 2002

For something a bit spicier, and less sweet, 1/3 Sriracha and 2/3 Mayo. Great for chips and on burgers

I feel like I am trolling this thread when I say that I don't like ketchup. Im super picky and rather bland. Don't like ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, sauerkraut, hot sauce. Onions. I like onions. Worcestershire sauce too. Maybe I go beyond picky and just weird.
