Steve said they did it over the phone, with Karl in New Zeland. I'm assuming that Karl had recording equipment locally in New Zeland and didn't actually record it over the phone.

He is a pinhead. Had pinball machines before Stern ST ever came out. Steve also mentioned that Karl is a pinhead "like us".

If someone could tell me how to update the title for this topic, I'd change it.
That being said, I would think the process would take at least a few months. They have to process the speech, tie the call outs to the existing rules, and/or add new rules to go along with the callouts. I would have been surprised if they had gotten it done any sooner than a few months.
