I always hear people talking about dream themes. Karate Kid is a movie from my youth that probably falls into that category for me. I think it could be a great mode based game. Music from the soundtrack is excellent. What does everyone else think? Are there other ‘80s movies others prefer more?

    #2 4 years ago

Just wax on/wax off your current playfields

    #3 4 years ago

I’d say KK is my favorite movie of all time, nostalgia being the biggest influence. I have a cast signed original movie poster, picture taken with the main 2 guys, as well as the original remco toys etc.

I don’t see this ever being made as a pinball machine.

What ‘80s theme do you think will make a better pin? Goonies?

    #5 4 years ago

    Love watching the movie.

Would hate to have something like that or anything else representing the 80s beyond actual machines from that decade in my house.

Mac and Me might be the winner here.

    Possible backglass?

For those that have a hard time leaving the 80s behind, this would be more like it.

It's not a theme that would interest me.

    #9 4 years ago

    Goonies and Top Gun

Yes. Goonies. That would be an incredible theme!

That would be a packed playfield!

    Running Man

    Blade Runner
    Aliens
    Strange brew
    Predator
    Heavy Metal
    Dune
    The Last Star Fighter
    BTTF

So many more, I didn't even get into Comedies or music. Karate Kid? No thanks
Goonies, R U guys for real?
    But my top pick Conan

That would suck almost as much as the one he started this thread about.

    Quoted from Krupps4:

TMNT (comic book based or cartoon) if done properly could be an amazing theme and I hope that the rumors of it are correct.

I’d also would love a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe pin. With a new launch of the toys going to retail based on the originals, plus a movie coming out in 2020 as well as the Netflix cartoon coming up, I can hope...

    You forgot commando

    #20 4 years ago

KK is my favorite movie, and I would love to see a pin. That said, I'm not sure how it would work, but would love to see it as an option. I'm probably interested in most any theme 80's, but my top picks are....
    He-man
    Gi-joe
    TMNT
    Transformers g1
    KK
    Goonies
    Mario
    Bttf

Probably forgetting something but these are definitely top picks.

    Quoted from JayDee:

No I didn't just didn't want to over due the Arnold thing. You can add Raw Deal, Red Heat, Red Sonja and Conan to the list.

Ok I’ll give you that, BUT commando blows all those away

    #25 4 years ago

I think Andy Griffith theme would be an awesome machine. Barney multiball, could lock the balls in the mayberry jail, so much cool stuff with that theme.

    Quoted from jake35:

It obviously will never happen, but it’s actually a great outside of the box idea. How about a medley of classic tv shows put together all in one pin?

    I agree.

Damn Jodie Foster looked so great in that film.

Gotta go with that classic 80s horror flick, Vid1900! Er, I mean Phantasm.

    Quoted from Stones:

100% yes. For movies, a trilogy is great to make sure there is enough varied content. For Die Hard, might even work with just the first movie...limo bash toy you hit off a ledge, or bash Hans off a ledge...too bad it would never get licensed

    #33 4 years ago

Modern-day Cobra Kai or original? (like I need to ask)

    #34 4 years ago

Play Bally Black Belt while listening to ‘Your'e the Best Around’ and there you go!

    #35 4 years ago

Original but Cobra Kai is pretty awesome!

Nice one dude, but Phantasm is 1979.

I've got your 1980s box office classic right here.

    That rocky from 1982 sucks

    #41 4 years ago

So long as danielson is the bash toy...couldn’t stand that little weirdo...even when I was kid

    #42 4 years ago
    Quoted from mzhulk:

    That rocky from 1982 sucks

R u talking about Rocky 3 with Clubber Lang and Thunderlips because if so then something is stuck somewhere. Try and have it removed immediately then re-watch the film, I bet you will enjoy it more this time around. U could base a pin on just that movie alone and it would be greatness.

    #43 4 years ago
    Quoted from RandomGuyOffCL:

How about a bash toy that rotates? One side is Daniel and the other is Johnny. You put it in the back of the playfield like Herman in the Munsters pin. You’d never see the back side that way. Would add variety, can’t be that hard to do and would work for a number of pins. Depending on the scenario, you could even lose points or be penalized if you hit it under certain circumstances.

Geez, I thought the "American Girl" mini pin thread was creepy.

    Trolls!!

    #46 4 years ago

I’m all for this. I think should be based on the first two movies and the Cobra Kai show.

    #47 4 years ago

I'm up for just about anything 80's including this.

    #48 4 years ago

The rocky pinball machine sucks not the movies, hp should make a rocky based on the movies.

    #49 4 years ago
    Quoted from OldSchoolBlood:

I love the idea of a GI Joe theme. Based on the cartoon obviously.

    #50 4 years ago

KK is fine but it better have “put him in a body bag Johnny!!” callout.
