After revealing their joint Batman '66 pinball machine with Stern, Ka-Pow Pinball announced an online survey to vote for their next theme at Chicago Pinball Expo.

They have 8 themes to choose from:
Three Stooges
Munsters
Monkees
Beatles Yellow Submarine
Beverly Hillbillies
Young Frankenstein
A Christmas Story
Willy Wonka

They were passing out flyers at Expo that also included Blazing Saddles but that one is not on the online survey. At the end you can write in a suggestion.

How about something affordable this time?

#4 7 years ago

Jeesus, how about something NOT licensed?

Oh, wait.

What is ka pow pinball?

#6 7 years ago

This kind of reminds me of Keith Johnson's remarks of Kaminkow spamming licenses back when he was with Stern.

....with finished code!

And my vote is for Yellow Submarine. Easily.

Willy wonka but who are these guys???

Joe Kaminkow's pinball company. They helped make Batman 66 happen for Stern. I think they're mainly going to work in acquiring licenses and contracting Stern to do the design and building. B66 seems to be more like a boutique game where the higher price limits the quantity they will end up selling making for a more limited game than normal.

I would imagine some of these licenses would be hard to acquire. The Beatles license is notorious for being expensive. Can you imagine the price on that pin?

#10 7 years ago

I only want a double super duper LE game from them. If I sell a kidney I might be able to buy it. That would make me feel really cool and important. Cheers Ka-Pow!!

#11 7 years ago

Proudly the sole supporter of The Beverly Hillbillies theme.

#13 7 years ago

heard someone else has the wonka license

#14 7 years ago

Where's the "anything but Beatles" option?

#15 7 years ago

Ka-pow Pinball... "Pinball titles for Old Men". Or maybe "chasing that disposable baby boomer cash"?? or..."Pinballs for Seniors with more money than sense".

Don't worry I'm not far away from this demographic. So I can joke about it.

#16 7 years ago

I would like a 3 Stooges or Young Frankenstein pin but I know if Ka-Pow made it, I couldn't afford it.

I wrote in "Fletch"

None of the themes on the list interest me but Fletch would be very cool.
Then I could contact my distributor and charge my game, a bloody marry, a steak sandwich and a steak sandwich to the Underhills!

#19 7 years ago

Beatles. But, they won't. Because it's too expensive. Only Lego can afford it. Sad face.

" A Christmas Story"? Seriously?? And at 35 years old that's the most recent of the new themes they are considering? Who wants any of this crap!
Personally, I'm holding out for " The new adventures of Popok and Beelow".

I wrote in anything from Nintendo and specifically listed Mario, Zelda, Metroid.

Quoted from Sinistarrett:

Never forget Popok and Beelow. The Legend Continues...

#22 7 years ago

Looking at the list, they are all good.
But the one with the best music might be The Munsters.

#23 7 years ago

I won't buy any of those 8

#24 7 years ago

You think they should get a new sponsor?

#25 7 years ago

I voted Munsters, but I'd really like to see either Mad Max / The Road Warrior, or Repo Man.

#26 7 years ago

A Superman theme would be amazing.

#27 7 years ago

Jaws

best post on pinside in quite a while and I agree with you 100%!!!!
can someone please get VID to post a pic of them?
I would buy in on "the new adventures of Popok and Beelow" sight unseen.

I voted for Rocky Dennis gets a sex change.

Are you kidding me???? What kind of choice is this??? Sorry, but Batman 66 was a cool idea, but these other retro choices are lame........Willy Wonka is borderline in my opinion. Not all retro can stand the test of time and I say most of these don't.

#34 7 years ago

It is going to be Yellow Submarine and it will be overpriced beyond comprehension
Stern needs to eliminate partnerships and get back to the basics and focus on quality products at a reasonable price

These sound like Joe K's dream themes. I'm a huge fan of 3 stooges and Young Frankenstein though. B66 doesn't interest me at all.

#36 7 years ago

Based on what they've done with Batman, I think the Munsters would be a good fit for Ka-Pow.

I'd rather see JJP do Willy Wonka.

#37 7 years ago

Stooges, Munsters, or Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) would be great, but with the prices of pins going up I will never be able to afford one so I will just leave it at that.

#38 7 years ago

Touching on this George Gomez mentions special edition LE BATMAN 66' Games and that they will be unique a total of 120, since the show had 120 episodes... the most sought after title he claims will likely be "Bat Shark Repellent".... I voted for the Ka-Pow thingy on monkey survey and placed in "Jaws" as a title that I want but wasn't mentioned. I really see them making it I get the feeling 2025 for the 50th Anniversary of Jaws.

Don't forget little house on the prairie.

#40 7 years ago

Willy Wonka is a perfect pinball theme. Very colorful, everyone knows it, lots of material to work with (characters, memorable sets, music). That's why it's already a WMS slot machine. I'd rather see a balls to the wall big LCD and RGB lighting everywhere JJP version though.

Most of the other themes are aimed squarely at old men with lots of money to blow. I guess a $10k game isn't exact ideal for route.

Are they kidding? I may be old, but not THAT old.

#45 7 years ago

Beatles Yellow Submarine or an album theme would be a hit.

#46 7 years ago

My write in was guardians of the galaxy. How cool would that be

#47 7 years ago

Who's Harry Crumb?

#48 7 years ago

I wrote in a vote for Spaceballs

#49 7 years ago

How about Robotech? I think pinball is good with 60s pinball licenses. 2 big ramps that open up(representing the SDF-1 hands) open up for multiball.

#50 7 years ago

How about we save The Munsters for Spooky? Only seems right.
