That came... suddenly. An era ends.

I'd agree that it would be something K would do to hype up episode 500, but with Jack Danger reporting "sameish" stuff I don't expect it to be a hoax.

The way K said it and I understand it they didn't blindly accusate him but they let him kinda convict himself, with them sending over excerpts of his show wich they found non-tolerable. I think this makes what happening even more infamous, since they might change how the company sees their employee and do internal damage.

But that said, and while I completely disagree with involving the employer, Kaneda did call them out, when he said: "If you don't wan't me to leak stuff you'd have to play my game [...]" (in wich he asked for early access and letting him sign NDAs in return) wich is basically blackmailing and a horrible idea to agree to for the manufacturer because it would produce hanger-ons who'd do the same. - So, maybe he overdid it that time.

I'll miss him. I was a regular listener and while I disagree with what he says half of the time, he is the counterweight for every other podcast.
And because he is (or was) kinda alone with what he did, he didn't battle with everyone else over the same audience, when it came to the TWIPYs.

I remember about a year ago I tuned into his podcast and felt bad for the guy. I tuned in and was fortunate enough to have listened to just the right episode where he spoke how pinside was mean to him. A few episodes later and I discovered that this was his schtick, and he did that all the time. Didn't take long for me to realize the guy was a self absorbed asshole. Great info... but there was too much shit to wade through to get there.

Although I didn’t agree with everything he said and I always had my grain of salt ready when listening I really enjoyed listening his podcasts (at least the ones not have the f*ck word every 5 seconds) and found them entertaining and informative.

K*, you will be missed and hope you will get back some day.

This is terrible.

What was the motivation of complaining to his employer? I think it's a poignant question worth considering, what it either:

-Retaliation or anger trying to get him fired?
-Trying to use his employer as leverage to silence him and stop his podcast?

And how many parties complained, was this just one party or multiple?

Really disappointing. The people that did this are truly scum. For the one that complained with their real name - pm me. Would love to talk about it.

What's even more disappointing is that the rest of these podcasts all have an agenda. There is no podcast left that I can truly trust which sucks.

Speaking of, for those that still do podcasts and might gain additional viewers, especially pinball network - just realize the podcast we all want, the one that kicked everyone's ass all day long - the one that everyone talked about, and took from and wished they were.... is no longer available.

And for people saying we should contact kaneda's employer - just STOP right now. I couldn't if think of a worse idea bc what people fail to realize is how dumb this hobby is. We're all crazy about Pinball but no one in the real world cares. Period. We're not even a percent of the population - we're essentially a statistical error of people. That's pinball. His employer and any employer with half a brain would walk away from someone who is bringing negativity to the image of the company regardless if the complainer is right or wrong.

Kaneda made the right move - peace out bc it's not worth it. Losers want to complain - go ahead. Livelihood vs a pinball podcast is not even something to contemplate.

And for the record - I am almost certain it was Stern. What a bunch of assholes if so.

Add the Covid situation; economies collapsing; social fabric unwinding due to 3 generations fighting for the same piece of pie (people live too long and work into their 70's) and an economy of the last 25 years built on a house of cards, no margin of profit and massive need for high volume of sales at all times; overextension of cheap credit/overvaluation of various properties and businesses...and a general climate of social unrest/injustice and extreme political polarization.
Stuff's about to get real fucking interesting.
It's K-Man today - you tomorrow.
You can take that to the bank.

While not nearly as bad a nazism it is still eerily similar.

His employer would say "enough of this bullshit, you're fired!". Then Kaneda would have all day everyday to make up shit to podcast, at least, until he starved. I guess he could live in his Chrysler after the wife leaves with the dog...
