sorry to see that. i know frisket is the go-to masking film but i've had to use good ole blue painters tape on other non-pin projects before. the frisket i used left behind so much residue that it added a couple hours of additional work to clean it off. i didn't have any issue with paint lifting but i didn't use it in this instance over existing paint.

Vid recommends clearing before touch ups to lock down the existing paint. Then sand sand to give the clear some tooth for subsequent touch ups and final clear. It seems to me not clearing after artwork touch up is asking for trouble later on.
