If you want to play pinball, nothing beats the PAPA facility. Best selection of games in good working order with basically no wait to play 99%.

Its not a show with events and presenters and no buying and selling of games. Just pure pinball playtime. If you stink like me, bring some friends to stage your own competition.

No entrance fee to play games but most are .25 for EMs,.50 for most SS and DMDs and a few newer Sterns at .75 or 1.00. Those offer 3 credits for $2.00.

Mark your calendars for the twice a year opportunity.

Wouldn't the problem with opening the doors more frequently be the level of customer traffic when there are no tournaments to draw out-of-town players? There would be costs beyond the liscenses such as utilities, game maintenance, and insurance.

I wish it was open a few more times a year so I could drive 4 hours and play for a day or so but how many would do that?

    Quoted from Blakesell:

Also, even if it were open just weekends, they wouldn't see near the traffic they see 2 times a year. When it's a big event, people go out of their way to go there. If they were open every weekend, I still have my doubts people from NY, MI, and OH would go out there for recreation very often. In addition, you have to think about how many games you saw out of order on Sunday Vs. the ones that were down on Thurs. Nearly none were down on Thurs. Almost every game that had a duplicate, and some that didn't had games down on Sunday. Maintaining along with all the extra business hours and labor just wouldn't be feasible there.
I'd love to see it open more times a year, but I can see why it's not.

Agreed. I'll mark my calendar for twice per year pilgrimages!
