That's a nice pinball sandwich!

Such a good looking machine.

I don’t understand what I’m supposed to do.

That's easy.

Put it in a box, write my address on it, bring it to your local shipping company and they will do the rest. ez pz!

Beautiful game. Congratulations!!!

The basic loop seems to be: start the four little multiballs to help you build guitar locks and qualify song, shoot scoop to start song, make lit song shots as best you can and play as long as you can/want before cashing out jackpot at scoop.

Playing songs for enough time unlocks related album wizard mode.

Ok. I suck so far. I have managed to get all of 5 single balls on the guitar so far and not all in the same game. I haven’t had much time on it though, I had to finish up the PF swap on the MM. the PF is from Illinois Pinnall and it was their firs attempt. The hold and dimples are off and it takes a lot of modifications to get it to work. I basically had to disassemble the top of the game 3 times today.

It is such an amazing pin. Personal taste aside it's hard to argue this isn't the GOAT super cars of pins. We may never get another one this stacked.

#11 2 years ago

The only thing I don’t like so far is that it is rather unclear on the shots and modes of it has modes.

Press the start button. Then press the flipper buttons.

Lights and aesthetics maybe, but I like JP2 and Avengers rules and layout much better than GnR. Making combos on those two is so satisfying.

#14 2 years ago

Well "proud" sounds a little weird but as long as your finally happy that's what matters
Enjoy!

I like avengers also and TMNT and JP. All are great and I would love to own them.

Ok I downloaded the latest code and it’s a different game It’s much clearer and easier to figure out what to do. I got shall we play a game multi ball and it was a lot of fun.

Watch the attract mode - there are 4 different videos that explain the game.

When one ends and it goes to the band photo montage, hit left flipper to return to the tutorial videos.

#18 2 years ago

Also the screen in the back of the pf will tell you what to shoot for in a song mode.

#19 2 years ago

Does the game have actual modes or is it non stop. Action the whole time. My games so far are very short.

All kidding aside - while the deep ruleset is best appreciated by long term play (aka home use), there is a certain charm to the basic "just keep the ball on the playfield and shoot the flashing lights" philosophy of older games imo

There's 21 song modes. To start a song mode I think you have to collect each of the band members corresponding instruments by hitting their shot on the playfield. Once you do that hit the scoop to pick a song. When you are in the song mode there's a number of lit shots to hit, at a certain point you will be given the option to cash out a jackpot or continue the song where the rules change a bit for a chance at an even larger song jackpot.

There's also 4 album modes, basically mini wizard modes. You have to play I think 3 or 4 minutes of songs from that album to qualify it. Each of the album modes are separate set piece modes that play on their own.

There's a ton of other stuff in there, more multiballs that can be stacked with song modes, different jackpot awards (applause jackpot), being booed off stage, etc.

So does the game ever change. It’s non stop action but I’m getting the feeling I’m doing the same thing over and over again.

That's where I struggle with GNR. All the song modes seem the same to me. And there is just the 4 mini wizard modes... I don't own it, so I haven't had a ton of time on the game. As popular as it is... I'm sure I'm missing something.

Yea, I’m going to give it every chance but it seems like you are just flailing away for the short time o can keep the ball in play. It might get traded for a newer stern like Avengers, TMNT or JP. For now though I’ll happily bang away and try to keep the ball more than 30 seconds

Just 4 mini wizard modes? Most have 2 or 3 it seems. 4 is more then 99% of modern games, hell that's as many or more as Lord of the Rings. There's also a super wizard mode making it 5. What pin has more then the 5 wizard modes?

Check out the posts above. There's rules to each song and options to cash it out or continue.

Check out the rulesheet below, there's a lot to do in the game.

Cool. I’ll look it up. I have been wanting this game since I first saw it and I really want it to stay.

I get that. They are called mini wizard modes, but they just seem like regular modes to me. It doesn't feel like you have much to do to get to them.

The "light the flames" and other multiballs (other than songs) seem pretty easy to start and there is usually one going or a song.

I know the song rules change, but the all seem very similar to me.

Again, I'm not trying to rip the game. I have an LE coming within the next two months after they get EU games out. I bought it mostly because of how gorgeous the game is and I love the band. But, I just can't seem to gel with the code direction. It seems very repetitive.

But, I'm happy as hell to be able to bring it home and play it for awhile. If I still can't "love" the code, I can move it along.

LZ has 3 mini Wizards that are not easy to achieve along with ” ?” Main wizard mode and EM Frenzy.

But it’s ugly, the PF is bare with exactly no imagination and the little pop up spinner is always broken. Just sayin

Are you:

- Focusing on the 4 booster multiballs before the song, getting as many jackpots as you can?
- Focusing on patch sets to spot characters?
- Focusing on starting band frenzy in the song by hitting the active band member?
- Maximizing band frenzy by spamming the spinner/pops when active?

There's way more to it than a flail fest.

Most of that is just your opinion. The latest run of premium spinners are good.

I think there’s just as much mb in lz as gnr, tour is always only a few shots away and when doing tour objectives I’m trying to bring in mothership or electric magic. I do enjoy the straightforward layout and rules of lz and am excited to bring a gnrle home soon. I’m very curious which one I will like and play more.

I’ve played lots of gnr but still barely know what to shoot for, won’t be until I have one in my home will I be able to truly figure it out.

#34 2 years ago

I’m just messing with you guys about the LZ.

It’s all good, I’m not offended. I love the speed and flow of it but I’m equally excited to dive into gnr.

It keeps getting better the more you understand it .learn one mode at a time .Try taking the glass off and roll the ball around with a rules sheet by you .To me this is the best way to learn any pin .

#38 2 years ago

Shit, I have been playing it all day and I can’t keep the ball for any time. I’m going to set the outlines to the easiest and see if I can play longer.

Looks are subjective and no issues with my spinner.
I’m assuming you’ve played a PRE/LE or is your opinion based of here say?

He said

Quoted from Darscot:

And I disagree, it's a great looker and not a bad player, but it just doesn't have the grab that a true GOAT needs.

Not all had spinner issues , im on original one still, 700+ games in. You need to expect a few tweaks and fixes on an le, Which I think is a huge part of the fun. For you who haven't played, (romulusx) , it is a very fun game. Toys don't mean crap to me, but may to others. I've played gnr a few times now and its a very good game also

I know my buddy's had an issue but Stern sent out a fix for him. Luckily all vaccinated up so i can finally get over there and play that bad boy

Get to frenzy, with max volume. Sounds are amazing and high scoring during it

Grabbing popcorn.

#49 2 years ago

So I set it to 5 balls, I know, and moved the outlines to the easyest spots and I get to see a lot more of the game. I still suck at it but I’m starting to like it a lot more. I beat “can we play a game” finally but I didn’t see a reward for it.

I love how the whole personal taste aside part just completely fails to register. Let me try this again how it plays aside and personal opinion aside, when you look at it, it is as loaded as a top tier super car. It has it all in the box, some people may prefer Tesla, some Bugatti (feel free to insert whatever brand is your thing), but when you look at their top tier machines it's impossible to argue that they are benchmarks. Off course someone has to say well the GPS is not as good in Bugatti, the Tesla UI is better. It still a fucking Bugatti, it's ok to just appreciate it.
