Been looking for a Judge Dredd for a long time, now I will not own one but two popped up for sale both pretty high price. I think people are trying to move them while they can.

I should clarify that I think people are moving them while they can at peak market value.

So am I getting down voted for saying I would no longer own his pins or for thinking his pins will lose value so people want to sell at the top? When was the last time anyone heard Gary Glitter being played, they used to play that at every sporting event.

    Quoted from greatwichjohn:

I got called for jury duty in a incest case. Had over 100 people called, I got called back the second day. Guess what, I don't think any males got on the jury. Just females, wifes, students, teachers. You can probably figure that guy had a hard time in court.

Dude who gives a shit if men are on the jury, you think bro code covers incest and guys are going to give another guy a break. It's pretty obvious why they passed on you.

First I will clarify that I do not know much about the police and legal system in the US. I know its very different than up here in Canada. I have a daughter and a son that are both highly competitive gymnastics athletes. As great as the sport is, it is plagued with these predators. My daughter's gym had a coach arrested for molesting athletes and friend close to my son had a coach arrested for manufacturing child pornography. I have fairly decent knowledge of how these cases are built and how they link together these guys. I will say this, I know a mother that had to read all kinds of shit online about it could have been this or that and wait till the facts come out. Her daughter had to go to school with everyone talking about it. The police sat her down and said these are the pictures we need you to identify your daughter and we can tell you they are all over the internet. They then begged her to say nothing, to let them go out and try to make cases against all the people online and it takes months. She had to listen to people defend the guy and say nothing. For months she had to listen to people say it was bullshit. The police told her we will say nothing publicly against him beyond the charges and he is innocent until proven guilty. I believe everyone deserves the right to a fair trial. I also know up here in Canada the kind of evidence it takes before they will arrest someone. So I am not going to hold my breath for this guy. If he is cleared I will happily post that I was wrong.

I will add her daughter was very lucky in that all the pictures were taken with hidden cameras. It is much worse for most.

I would suggest Stern puts in their statement that they have no involvement or information related to the private lives of their employees. They need to put as much distance they can from this and to be fair to Stern it has nothing to do with them. I am sure they are shocked as everyone. They need to tell everyone employed by them to not comment and give Ritchie a smack upside the head, for being a dumbass.

    #661 6 years ago
    Quoted from Brazy:

It's all bad... but what would kill Stern would be if JT had those type files or searches on work computers... yikes... nothing good about any of this

Yeah I thought of this too and didn't want to say it out loud. If the police found anything on a Stern computer and fuck what a mess it would be.

    Quoted from RustyLizard:

Question to those selling the game because of this, Do you feel the need to disclose this to potential buyers?

Its such a tough thing, I would disclose it myself but I feel for people. You spend that kind of coin on a pin and could end up taking a big loss on it. Not everyone is in a position to be moral about this stuff. I would fault no one that kept one of his pins or enjoyed it. I just know for me it would bother me and I would move the pin and I'm lucky enough to be in a position to do that. I would not expect people to get fleeced on a pin over this and it sucks that I think people will.

    #675 6 years ago
    Quoted from TheLaw:

I don't know why that would be a mess. They would take his PC and that would be the end of it.

Some Mother or Father finds out dirty pictures of their child have been spread through a PC and Stern and you bet your ass they are going to sue. It's a liability nightmare for Stern.

I agree with the post below me and I didn't want to post it earlier, there is enough on the table without adding any what ifs.

Guys do we really need a big debate about how people feel about owning his pins. No one needs to defend himself either way. If it doesn't bother you then by all means enjoy your pin. It is equally ok to say I'm not comfortable with this and choose to not own his pins.

Are we sure that post is legit, it would be really easy to fake a comment like that.

Do any of you guys actually remember stories about this guy?

From the posts below it looks like it's legit.

    #730 6 years ago
    Quoted from cooked71:

Fake the comment date and article publication?

I don't know that website, just saying that it would take minutes to make a fake article and post with phoney timestamp. It is either creepy as fuck and true or someone wants to say I knew it all along. People do shit like this all the time on the net. All the fake twitter and instagram post that predict the future. I'm not defending the guy in any way, just skeptical of the internet.

What Steve did was very stupid. He made a mistake I can accept that but in this day and age posting something like that on social media is not ok. He has to expect and accept he is going to take some heat for it. I'm sure he will be fine and things will move on. Stern needs to educate their employees. I think it's fair to say these guys are a little older and didn't grow up with this kind of media. I can tell you this, if someone at the company I worked for posted something like that, their job would be in serious jeopardy. At the very least there would be a very sincere apology made publicly. They could easily be fired. That being said we all have to take social media awareness courses and know exactly what we can say and the legal issues around it. I can give Steve a pass he fucked up and I am sure he realizes that now. I can also understand why some people expect a statement and apology.

P.S. Kaneda is clearly trolling for clicks my post has nothing to do with that mess.

    Quoted from Manimal:

They are immensely different. Offenses such as distribution, soliciting, travelling, wire transmission, etc all carry a lot heavier penalties because they further the criminal enterprise and have physical victims. In Jared's case, the actual charges may have been reduced to only 2 as part of his plea, but I guarantee the judge was a ware of that and sentenced according to the crime and not necessarily just the charges. In JT's case, he is at this point only charged with 2 counts of possession, which is the lowest category. Maybe the victim was 17 instead of 2 and sent him the pictures herself? I am not saying that makes it right, but all of it does come into consideration as to how he will be prosecuted and ultimately sentenced if convicted.
One thing folks need to keep in mind is that it was not all that many years ago when a 18 year old girl was considered a spinster. Marriages at a very young age were common, and that is still a practice in many parts of the world. Again, I am not defending anything or anyone, I am just saying we don't know what he was actually in possession of, and morality does seem to change over time with the social norms.

Sorry but the whole she was 17 and looked older thing is as plausible as the tainted supplements defense in athletes getting caught for steroids.

    Quoted from Manimal:

Read one of my earlier posts and then come back with the same opinion. I was a cop for a long time and worked child crimes for over 2 years. I have seen a lot of things that make you question everything about people and common decency that you thought you knew. I would love nothing better to go back to my rookie days when I had the luxury of seeing things in black and white. It would make life so much easier. But instead I have learned that very few things are actually that cut and dried, and many times things are not what they seem. What would you do if a 17 year old person who admired you from afar, sent you nude or semi-nude pictures of themselves and maybe even propositioned you? What if they were all dolled up and looked much older than what they were? Would you be flattered and keep the photos? Would you show them to your buddies? At what point would you know they were technically child pornography? I am not taking of a 6 year old here, and don't get me wrong, this is all disgusting....I am just asking how you would know and how you would react. What if you accidentally clicked on an illegal site? Do you clear your cache and format your hard drive? If not, then those pictures are probably still on your hard drive. Are you responsible for that? What if you copied a picture of a nude girl from a website that was considered perfectly legal art, and you found out later she was under 18? If you had any thoughts other than disgust, does that make you a pervert?
All I am trying to say here is if he is guilty, he deserves the book thrown at him. But our system is based on the premise that a person is innocent until PROVEN guilty. It is why the country is so great. Yes, there are all kinds of injustices that we can bring up, but the basic rule of justice usually prevails in the end. We all here no NOTHING of this case other than that fact he was arrested and charged. We don't know the evidence, we don't know the circumstances, and there isn't a one of us here that wouldn't be screaming from the top of our lungs for people to stop jumping to conclusions if the tables were turned. He needs to have his day in court before we all sentence him to the gallows. I will agree none of this looks good for him, but we are now over 800 pages of pure speculation.

How much time do you think they waste on the 17 year old girl cases when they are swamped with far more serious crimes against children. I find it hard to believe 17 year old girl are send JT nudies, he is not Beiber.

Also I'm 45 if anyone sent me a nude I would address it. A young girl I would inform the authorities immediately.

Great to see stern do the right thing very professional response by them.

    #969 6 years ago

Is this thread really the place for that video?

    #972 6 years ago
    Quoted from vdojaq:

Oh please, save the moral standards for elsewhere

Sorry I should have known better than to expect a minimum moral standard in a thread of this nature. This has run its course for me. I am not offended, its a great song by a rock n roll legend. It just doesn't belong here, this is not about young girls throwing themselves at rock stars.

    #976 6 years ago
    Quoted from pinbum:

I see women on the beach with less than this. GEEZ!

Oh come on, yeah its her outfit that is the issue at hand. :rollseyes

Are you guys really this dense. This is not about how racy you can be on pinside and offending people. Be as racy as you like go start a thread, enjoy the adult human form and beauty all your like. Just have the awareness to not do it or discuss it in thread about pedophiles and child pornograph. You guys can not be this stupid.

    #993 6 years ago
    Quoted from o-din:

I believe my posts about Motorhead, Iron Maiden, and Oingo Boingo were spot on with the topic of this thread.
Bands that in their songs glorify the subject at hand, but at the same time have been discussed as being new pinball themes.

Pedophilia and child pornogrpahy have absolutely fuck all to do with underage girls that are post puberty throwing themselves at rock stars. Pull your head out of your ass.

This thread is going places that I just can not be part of, I appreciate the people that supported and understood what i had to say. It was nice to see the up votes. I feel physically ill and I have to drain this. I just can't joke and make light of this subject.
