Started off with a half dozen arcade cabinets over the last year or so and have crossed over as of last night. After stating my case and receiving some solid feedback on this forum, decided Firepower was going to be the starter pin. Waited months for the right one to post and closed the deal last night. Can’t wait to get this one in the lineup and start playing......and learning how to fix

Next up......Space Shuttle!

that exactly how I started. had a bunch of arcades. they were fun and all. but got bored quick. Starts with one remember, then they multiply some how?

Oh boy you need to watch them like a hawk because they just keep appearing.. good luck!

Congrats!

PS - Don't throw me down clark!

Awesome and congratulations.

Firepower is such a great choice for a first game. Congratulations and welcome!

#7 7 months ago

That the one in Jersey? Looked like a good deal to me, and FIrepower is a great first - or only - game.

#8 7 months ago

Congrats!

You'll be surprised how quickly one becomes forty.

#9 7 months ago

Firepower you say?
Nice choice for your first.
And coming in a close second... Space Shuttle.
You're well on your way!
Congrats!

#10 7 months ago

Congrats, within the first year my family combined purchased 8. It happens fast beware

#11 7 months ago

Yeah, pulled the trigger on the one for sale in Jersey. Too nice to pass up and no shipping charges involved. Winner! Fortunately for me, I consulted the Pinside oracles before deciding on which pin to enter the hobby with. I had a bit of a soft spot for Gorgar initially.....and I still do; however, I got some solid guidance on here based on what I could afford.

I have never actually seen a Space Shuttle in the wild and would never have known about its attributes without this forum. Very helpful. I think I can make room for a second...

Congrats. They Breed like Rabbits, watch out.

#14 7 months ago

Congrats! Welcome to the darkside I remember the thread you started Before you know it, your arcade cabs are getting sold left and right, and will be replaced with more machines. Solid choices on your first 2 pins. Great for tinkering and learning and fun to boot!

Did someone say forty???

Also started with arcades then bought my first pin. Hate to say it but replaced all my arcade games with one multicade cap now the rest are pins. My first pin was a Gorgar. Next two pins were Black Knight and Firepower.
Welcome to the madness!

She's a beaut Clark!

The pics are in the “For Sale” section of this forum and has been archived. I think there is only one Firepower listed for sale on the first page of that thread. Many pics there. I don’t think I will get to NJ to take possession for a few days yet. Now I gotta figure out how to get the sumbitch out of the minivan and into the house...

Firepower is the quintessential starter pin. It's like a gateway drug.

Sweet!

So there's still a chance for me to make a higher offer...

A friend some beer and a dolly and being very careful. Ideally the pin before the beer!

First pin I bought

And like others said it's great.

I learned many things from that game. Lots of the basics

My first pin as well — fun game

Pleasure meeting ClarkWGriswold today and I hope he enjoys the Firepower in good health. It was nice to sell him his first pin and bust the pinball cherry. My wife suggested that I give him flowers as well but I did not have the time to pick them up. What a nice guy to deal with, great pinsider for sure.

Love your Pinsider name!

Great first choice. Space Shuttle is a totally solid 2nd game. Good luck with the hunt.

Absolutely perfect first game. Fun gameplay, not difficult to work on, straight forward electronics, neat 80’s art package, reasonable price. Great choice, time to find a pool waitress and order some fish Clark.

#31 6 months ago

Congrats on the purchase of your first pin. Definitely make room for a few more, pinball is a very addictive and fun hobby

Pics or it didn't happen!

The only downside was the ten hours behind the wheel, otherwise a solid buying experience! Seller was very helpful and thorough. Also got a chance to play some Space Shuttle and Sorcerer on outstanding examples of both. Very cool. Hope to get the Firepower in the house and set up tomorrow. Will post a pic when I get it going.

You chose wisely! Firepower is more fun than Gorgar IMO.

Welcome to the club!

The Firepower is out of the minivan, in the man cave, fully operational and in the lineup! Fired it right up and played a few games. Wife’s first reaction was “Wow....that’s loud....like, arcade loud!” Yes! Yes it is!

It’s official. I’m a pinhead. Firepower!

Great arcade lineup man!

Here is a little teasers what Firepower and Space Shuttle look side by side. I really enjoy both of them and most of the people that come to play I always ask out of all the pins which one do they like the most, FP and SS are on the top of their list.
