My JP has been running fine for years, but I turned it on the other day and got a "split-screen" like effect on the display, with the bottom half duplicated on the top, and the whole thing flickering. See the attached pic for the effect.

I've reseated all the cables, checked the DC voltages going into the display (all OK), and visually inspected for swollen capacitors or anything that looks off, and can't see anything that makes me suspicious.

Has anyone seen this before or know where I should start looking. Unfortunately I don't have a scope to go probing anything deeper than a multimeter will find.

Thanks!

Craig.

That's different. Without much else to go on, I would want to try another display to firmly establish if I was dealing with a display problem (it probably is, but I would want to rule out other causes)

Are you sure no messages popped up saying it is time to upgrade to a Stern Jurassic Park?

No messages on the machine, but little voices in my head do keep telling me one machine isn't enough

I don't have another screen to test with unfortunately. I'll keep investigating and report back if I find anything more.

Thanks!

Time for colordmd?? That would be a huge upgrade

Yeah, the color dmd would be fantastic, but unfortunately costs almost as much as the machine originally cost me! I'm hoping to get it back to good playable condition without spending toooo much money

Cheers!
