I've been slowly putting together a data east jurassic park for a few years now I finally got a usable cabinet at pinfest so I'm still a bit away from a working game but I've got all the guts now just have to start putting things together.

Here's the question I don't have the original transformer I have the Maverick/Batman forever transformer with has a different voltage for the dmd. I had planned on using a color dmd in the game and since the voltages are the same otherwise could I use it? It's just collecting dust and it would be great if I could put it to use and save me the $ of finding the correct transformer. Any feedback would be appreciated

That color dmd doesn't need high voltage to work. My guess would work.but others may chime in to verify. The only issue is if you sell the game and new owner wants to put an original back in could cause an issue.

Use that transformer and by pass the display hv board. Run the led dmd off a 12v. 5v may pull too many amps and could cause mpu resets

I don't think I'll be selling the game in the near future if at all but I would disclose to the buyer the different transformer. I mean really I think most buyers would prefer a color DMD in addition for what the correct transformer is going for I could just go down this path. Thanks for the input

Now it has me wondering could I use the larger display in my JP?
