Quoted from jake35:

It took me a while but I found a match by using black lacquer rustoleum. Perfect match for black Sega and data east cabinets.

jake35 delt31 -- just checking in regarding this - did you guys both end up using the black lacquer rustoleum? I'm looking for touch up paint myself.

Yes it matches great. I think you'll be pleased.

Thanks @jake35!

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

For anybody who is looking to do touch up paint on this machine in the future, "Americana Gloss Enamel Black" is as close to an exact match as I've ever seen for the the blacks on the base cabinet of this machine. I would put it at a 99% match on this machine suitable for repainting every black except the black in the Jurassic Park Logo itself. From what I can tell, the blacks in the Jurassic Park Logo are actually printed over top of the red on the logo and uses an ever so different shade of black there. I'd put it at a 97% match there, where it would bother you if you knew it was there, but nobody else would probably notice. In any case, for touching up the cabinet and general, I'd be behind this stuff 100%. I'm not doing clear coat or anything fancy and have no idea how the stuff would react with that sort of thing. In any case, the paint is $2 or so and I picked mine up at the local Michaels.

@sataneatscheese -- noob question though, my cabinet looks more of a matte colouring VS a gloss -- am I over thinking it?

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

Noob here too. Only one way to find out. If you want to try it today the paint is $2.00 at the Hobby Lobby down the street where you can try it today. Do a test touchup on a spot on the backbox, let it dry, and see how it turns out. If it is unacceptable, rub out the paint and try the Rustomleum method mentioned above. This is what worked for me in touching up original paint.
I will however emphasize that the black base paint is what is matched here. The paint on the dinosaur skeleton is a slightly different shade (and duller).
Good luck!

Thanks man - It's that overall-cabinet black that I'm primarily focused on - I shall grab both and try them, thanks.
