Yeah, that price is ridiculous for what you get, plus a new mode that could easily be included on their next update. Welcome to the beginning stages of pay to play, which I'm completely fine with if they were giving you a machine at two thirds of the cost. If you want to hear something entertaining, you should listen to Kaneda's recent podcast about it.
After seeing it, I'd say it's more like a $299 topper MINUS $100 for the extra mode since you'd already own the game that the code gets added to like any other update = $199 before tax/shipping/etc.
It'd be like buying a new car and then, six months later, the manufacturer comes out with an all-over LED-illuminated trim package just for the model you bought. The trim does a bunch of cool lighting effects and features the company's logo on the car's trunk and hood. And if you buy it, they'll also activate the heated seats in your car too. Hurry - winter is coming.
