I recently replaced a TIP 42A on a Jurrasic Park that was driving a lamp column. I replaced with a IRF9Z34N, but I did not remove the associated resistor (this is a suggested replacement on the Williams 3-7 boards). The lights now function, but behave strangely (on randomly, some never off). Could this be solved with the removal of the resistor, or is this "mod" not recommended in this application?
I currently have no TIP 42s.
