Hi,
New to this, hope ive posted to the right place.
Just got a data easy Jurassic park.
When I asked Previous owner why t-Rex didn’t eat the ball, he said it was just a setting he hadn’t used.
1st question - is that true? I’ve not found anything to suggest t-Rex shouldn’t always eat the ball?!
I’ve done a diagnostics test and #57 comes up but I’ve read that is normal? Tested jaw with trigger and seems fine. Only thing that looks strange to my uneducated eye is the attached image - should the offs be on?
Just wanting clarification? If he’s broke I’ll get him fixed when I get service done as I’m not that mechanically minded.
Thanks!!
Vince

Yeh, I got there already and it was set to yes already
I think it may be a timing issue...it dips it’s head over the ball and comes back up with it’s mouth open and closes its mouth as head is coming up...wondering if this is the issue?

I guess I could try a factory reset...see if that fixes it ?

I suggest you come see us in the JP owners club for all JP gurus to see.

Over time, we’ve all had various T-Rex issues, and I’m Amazed how many different things can go wrong.

You should at least make a post there with a link to this thread.

PS: nice write-up jorro

T Rex is awesome, but she wasn’t the most reliable when she was new and 30 years later she probably needs a rebuild. Have fun with that, it’s one of the more complicated mechs out there.

I would put the game in test mode and test the T-rex for function.....Hope on to the DE Jurassic park forum and we will get your issue resolved

A lot of the time replacing the wireing solves the problems

Quoted from newovad:

This has happened to a lot of folks and, recently, to myself. You need to check the wires inside the gray tubing that runs from the T-rex coil under and around the collar on the playfield. My black wire was split in half. So, Rex could close her jaws in the upright position because the wires were touching. When she would bend down, the wires were not connected, so no more jaw action.
Folks on here have suggested just replacing both wires all the way from the coil to the underside of the playfield where it connects. That's the best course of action if you can't find an obvious split. Plus, if you do both, less worry for down the road.

Cool...one last question before I go over to the other forum. If t-Rex is set to eat ball, then it should eat the ball? There is no other setting that turns the feature off? Nothing else in settings I need to check? I just want to confirm 100% that I have a fault, so I can see if i can get a partial refund from seller as he sold game as fully functioning..thanks for all your help

#17 4 years ago

If that setting is turned on the T-rex should eat the ball.

There is alot of things must be correctly working for this to happen. One thing to check is the pit switch that the ball sits in so it can come down to eat the ball. This will be a long process and lots of checks that will need to be completed.

I think your centre switch should be on. He should only bow down if he is centered
