Joined the club yesterday with a pro from my local distributor. So stoked on my first Elwin pin. The layout is so much different than the other games in my collection, and I’m guessing it will be a hit with guests who come over.

Sorry to be one of those people. But… there are a lot of pages in this thread and it would be impossible to read them all. Would someone be so kind as to fill me in on any pro owner issues I should address, or is this game pretty bulletproof? Any must have mods??? It does seem like a darker game than my others (not in theme, literally, it’s dark). Just embrace that, or are there any lights that are recommended to add?

Quoted from freddy:

Off topic but is that a comic pro with premium comic front art?
Did it come like that or did you redecal?

Wow, good spot! To be honest I didn’t know it was the premium art until you just pointed it out!

I bought it after they’d stopped building the comic art. I’d gone to the distributor to play games and liked the speed and flow (ah yes, the hallmarks of a Steve Richie game) of Star Wars. I was looking at the game on Stern’s website and decided I preferred the comic art. So I called up the distributor and asked if I could get a comic art, turns out the floor model I’d been playing was one and was also the last one he had. Now I remember going in to pay for it, they said there was a ding on the decal by the coin door that they’d replace before delivering it. I guess they went with the premium decal.

Fortunately now that I look at the two I prefer the premium front decal to the pro. Fortunately they seem to integrate well with one another.

I added Pinstadiums to my Prem.... I really like them

Here is the rule sheet
http://tiltforums.com/t/stern-jurassic-park-rulesheet/5644

Thank you for the rule sheet, very helpful.

Am I the only one who reads one of those and is completely overwhelmed? For me when I get a new game I like to play it for a while and see if I can get a feel for what it’s trying to tell me to do. Then I will read the rules and try to get a better understanding. It really does seem to require a few months of playing before really getting a grasp on a new game. This one does seem to be pretty deep though!

So far my games have been kinda pathetic, I’m lucky to break 100 million. I imagine it will be like Led Zeppelin though, at first I rarely broke 100 million and now a decent game is at least 400 million.

Quoted from demandecan55:

Weird question, but how do people shoot this game?
By that I mean, do you use the playfield art or just general feel and timing of shots? I asked a few people this question and nobody knew how they shot, they just did. On other machines I use playfield art to make my shots, but JP has some tight shots and I can't get that to work here.
Thanks!

I don’t know the answer to your question, but can we all agree that the smart missile/CHAOS shot is one of the tightest around?

I for one don’t mind when people have little conversations and questions inside a thread. I mean I’m pretty used to waxing my playfield by now but I’m sure I could still learn a thing or two. Maybe next little back and forth will be about something I’m totally green on.

FWIW, this is the wax I use, it seems to be pretty good stuff.

Finally cracked 500 million!

Man, this game is just so damn good. I’ve just scratched the surface, but I know there’s no way in hell this game is ever leaving my collection!

Quoted from purbeast:

But usually because I miss so many shots, my game plan changes because I start to get other options to open up before CHAOS does, and then from that point on my game is basically a huge clusterfuck of me just trying to do too much at once lol.

Oh man, I thought I was the only one playing this way!

Quoted from PinRat:

I've got a premium on order from the batch set to be done in April/May. I've been gathering all of the accessories I want to install in it, so I've got the Stern topper and shooter, cliffys, art blades, etc. all ready to install day one. I played an LE on location the other night and was absolutely blown away by the bass rumble of the T-rex roar filling the space. It reminded me of seeing that first movie in the theater. I know the LEs have upgraded speakers over the other models, but how well do the standard speakers do with this? Do I want to look at enhancing the sound system if I want this kind of effect? If so is there a best option for this? I have a few games but I've never upgraded the speakers on anything.

Do you have a shaker ready to go in it? When my friends or family play mine that gets the biggest reaction from the T-Rex roar.

Quoted from lockeness:

I tried searching for the answer but does insider connected nuke the movie code? Can the two co-exist?

I’m running insider connected and movie code without any problems.

#13772 1 year ago
Quoted from BubbaPin:

Really? I thought the insider connected would update to the newest code. Which would overwrite the movie code. Unless if the movie code has been updated, I feel like my movie code is 1.03 without looking at it.
If another person chimes in saying it'll work, Ill put a order on a insider connected kit

My movie code is not 1.03 FWIW.
