OK this looks good. Going to watch it with my daughter.

anyone had issues where the right orbit shot (the "O" shot) has the ball rattle around in the top/right area, and then come into the pops? Seems to do that for me more than looping around smoothly.

I imagine the answer is already in the thread somewhere.

Quoted from NightTrain:

You sure it’s not the up post diverting the ball?

Good point, sometimes I'm just not expecting the uppost

#7175 3 years ago
Quoted from Manny65:

The direction the truck is facing determines whether the orbit up-post will divert the ball to the pops. If the truck is facing left, the ball will do the full orbit (assuming the shot has enough power); while if facing right, the post will come up and divert the ball into the pops

I NEVER KNEW! thanks!

put a washer under the left-fork screw on the shooter lane. It then did 5 proper auto-launches in a row, and then shortly after that it was 50/50 again for making it up the shooter ramp. sigh

#7393 3 years ago
Quoted from Manny65:

Check each ball individually and see if specific balls are failing all the time - I've heard of this being an issue and worth checking

OMG that sounds like madness. What could be the difference given the tolerances of pinballs?

do I need to get a deeper socket wrench to remove this post?

20210903_230702 (resized).jpg20210903_230702 (resized).jpg

It's easy to remove the nut on the back of the playfield, but I can't on top with my current nut driver, and I can't get at this with a wrench unless I tear apart the right side of the playfield.

#11588 2 years ago
Quoted from EaglePin:

If you have or can get some small ignition wrenches those usually work well.

yeah but I think I'd have to tear down more of the playfield to use those. (not insurmountable)
but with the gap in the plastic above the post, I just figured there was some kind of obvious Stern-approved tool for taking them out...

#11590 2 years ago

used a 1/4" ignition wrench. only had space for tiny motions so it took an incredibly long time to get out and back in compared to a nut driver.

#11597 2 years ago
Quoted from Drac:

I just hold the post on top with pliers and undo the nut on the bottom with the nut driver.

the nut on the bottom is easy to remove, but the post is screwed into the playfield wood. You still have to unscrew the post from the top.

I just wished gomez would toss in that deathsave award where ic could do a thing where it would keep tally of the score accumulated after a deathsave. - right outlane.
