Just bought a JP LE should be here in a couple of days! Is there any specific posts I should look at for tweaking my machine?

I've owned a Guardians and there were a few issues with the drop target and right orbit that needed attention.

Anything like that on JP? Also any areas that have lots of dimpling that might require mylar or anything? I have the plastic protector set coming from Mezels, but no shooter lane protector as of yet was thinking I would just add some mylar to that.

Any help is much appreciated!

Having some issues with my TRex ramp optos reading. If the shot is too fast seems to not register and then not work for a little bit and then it will work. Testing with the glass off it's pretty inconsistent also don't know which opto of the two actually register the map shot/skill shot. Anyone have this issue?

Quoted from JMCFAN:

A piece of black electrical tape covering bottom half of opto fixed mine. Search the forum... lots of pics etc. easy fix

I put a washer on the back metal bracket to raise it up a little bit more and that seemed to help a ton! 9/10 times it registers! ha I'll get a slightly larger one and I think it will fix that last little bit, Thanks a ton appreciate the response!

Just like to say I'm extremely frustrated with this damn TRex Ramp opto... I'm getting Stranger Things TK locks vibes from it.

I've just about tried everything and I can't get both shots(Ramp and Magnet) to read 100% I either get one or the other right now.

I've tried the electrical tape 1/3 down, 1/2 down, in combo with 1 washer raising the metal guard up, 2 washers, 3 washers, no spacers. etc.

Are people just living with this?? No way blocking out the opto with the tape is a long term solution and if it is no thanks! Like what the heck? Really?

It's one of the most important shots of the game and it doesn't work at all.

Quoted from yancy:

Assuming the current builds are still like my early premium, you can try removing the black plastic spacers from atop the two posts guarding the ramp entry. This lowers the clear plastic ceiling over the ramp entry, forcing the ball to stay lower and break the beam.
It's been over three years since I dialed mine in, but I'm pretty sure it helped me. My spacers are still removed today, so it certainly didn't do any harm.

I did remove those and it didn't help was getting the same results.

Quoted from AMartin56:

I had a bad opto on a NIB GZ that almost drove me nuts. So I sympathize. But let's be specific.
If it doesn't register shots to the left ramp that's an exit switch.
If it doesn't eat the ball that's the ramp entry switch.
Is it possible that both are acting up?
I added tape to my ENTRY opto and a clean shot is eaten 100% of the time.
The exit opto doesn't need any tweaking unless it's actually defective.

The more I cover up the opto or raise the metal guard up with washers the more the fast flush ramp shot will register; but there is a certain point where it's close to a 100% ramp shot registering that the ball stops getting eaten.

So I have a catch 22 where I can have:

8/10 balls being registered as a ramp shot, being eaten by the TRex 100%
or
10/10 balls being registered as a ramp shot, being eaten by the TRex 0%

There is no other middle ground.

Quoted from yancy:

When you say "1/3 down", do you mean down from the top, or up from the bottom of the hole? I assume you mean the latter, tape blocking the bottom of the hole, but I just want to make sure.</blockquote

Yep I'll show you. I would consider this 1/3 covering.

Quoted from EaglePin:Are you sure it's the entrance opto causing the ramp shots to not register? It could be the ramp exit opto. Have you done the T-Rex Ramp test to check? That test has you shoot balls to the ramp and it counts how many times the entrance and exit optos register. Whichever one registers the fewest times is your issue. Just an idea if you haven't tried it already.

Just did it def the ramp entry opto the ramp exit opto counted on every shot. I can use this to test more of course a screw broke in half on one of the posts so I have to order a new post and screw! Yeaaaahhhh when it rain it pours! lol
