In the club! The person who had this pin put quite a few mods in it. One of them, the Mezelmod raptor tower, has created a stuck ball location.

Since I didn't install the tower, I don't know if everything was left out or a piece missing. Has anyone else had this issue?

Quoted from ChipScott:

Somewhere, deep in the pinside archives was a great post by a fellow who had a really smart idea to address this.
I'm sure someone can chime in with the actual post, but essentially what he did, and what I have done since finding that post was: take the bulb, pull away the small metal wire prongs and bend them out (about 90° away). Then, cut to spec and wrap a small piece of electrical tape around the base circumferentially. Then, put the little metal prongs back around the edges they way they originally were.
This makes the base of the bulb a little thicker and offers a little bit of grip within the socket, and thus the bulb is significantly less likely to pop out.
This is a great little trick.

I know this is a common solution to a common problem (tape on the bulb base)

My solution: put a small dab of "goop" glue that connects the bulb to the shield. The bulbs will hold fast, but they are easily removable with a firm tug. The goop will snap off, and is also easily removable.

You talking hot glue? Or stuff like elmers glue?

This stuff, available at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc

I use it for everything: Attaching things to plastics, extra adhesion to LED strip ends, adding LED pop rings to pop caps, etc, etc.

It holds fast but remains slightly flexible and it is completely removable from most surfaces after it cures. It's a LOT easier to work with than hot glue in my option, except it doesn't set up as fast as hot glue.

The one pictured says it's for plumbing, but it's the same as their multi-purpose product. I probably go through a tube or two a year working on pins.

Quoted from purbeast:

I may try to grab some next time I'm at HD.
I have the mezel blue LED ramp mod in mine and the light keeps falling down from the L bracket it hangs from. I thought hot glue would fix it but nope I noticed yesterday it again fell down.

Yep, I used it for that same application in mine!

Another advantage it has over hot glue: Heat won't melt it so you can use it on things that get warm.
