EXCITED. Just arranged to buy a premium! I pick it up on Friday!

I’ve got to be honest, I’ve only played it a few times and it never clicked with me. But it’s the fourth rated machine here, and it’s three years old - so there must be more to it!

Godzilla by Elwin is AMAZING, so I will trust the master.

Got Jurassic Park home! I get what people are saying about the flow on this game being excellent, but the rule set it making my head spin!

It feels like when you get a new game the first phase is mastering the shots and the second is learning the rules. Gonna need to put some hours into this to truly get it.

Quoted from holminone:

Nice. Curious to see 1) when you get to your first visitors center and 2) neutral assessment against GZ. I’ve played GZ pro a handful of times and I’m having a hard time with the hype and being “by far” Elwin’s best game. Great yes. Better than JP? Not convinced.
You need to get to work on your STTNG and kick out the default officers club high score!

When I replaced the motherboard last month I lost all my high scores. It killed me!

Quoted from Manny65:

If you have Buy-In turned off in the settings then your high scores will never go into the Officers Club (actually the Officers Club is only used for games with more than 1 buy-in). In the home environment I don't see the point of doing buy-ins, as I'd prefer to compare my high scores knowing they are all off a 3 ball game.
Now back to JP

Exactly why I haven’t redone those scores yet. It’s not exactly a challenge to hit Final Frontier with 3 buy ins. With mission starts, that’s all 6 automatically. Plus one to activate FF. It’s too easy to blow up the table out of proportion to the skill involved to actually play STTNG.

My table has over 55,000 plays! It has taken so much work restoring, and it still needs more.

Back to JP, more than any table I own, leveling this matters. It was off by .2 degrees and it was effing up all my shots.

THIS GAME IS DESTROYING ME.

I am not a great pinball player, but I’m not terrible either. Please tell me this game is hard and it’s part of the learning curve.

Quoted from Jediturtle:

It's a tough game for sure. I would also say, more than almost any other game, the enjoyment really depends on if you are hitting your shots. If you are on, it can feel like one of the most satisfying, flowy layouts ever made. If you are off, it is a terribly unsatisfying brick fest. There is no in between on this game. Most games I would say you can still have fun with even if you aren't nailing all your shots. JP though...nope. Best to just turn it off and walk away.

Sounds like I just need a lot more time in the saddle!

I bought this game a few weeks ago on a whim. I mostly just wanted a road trip to break up pandemic cabin fever. I’d played it a few times, but it never really clicked.

For the first week I was certain I was going to sell it. And now, it’s absolutely in the never sell category. Like no game I own, there is an addictive “one more game” quality. You feel like you’re a high wire act, and at any second it could crash.

I suck so profoundly at this game. My average score is only 40 million. But it’s creeping up. This game rewards time invested like nothing else.

Now I understand why it’s one of the top games of all time.
