Quoted from CashMoney:

I can answer one of those questions for you. A premium JP starting in Jan 2022 will be $8999 MSRP.

My distributor told me they'll honor the original price I was quoted in August,but I'd have to pay 200.00 extra for the QR reader. If the original price I was quoted does change,I'll just cancel my order.

Mine four (came yesterday).

Now I need to find a damn pinball machine...

#12053 2 years ago

I replaced most my rubbers with Titan Silicon rings and I’m having issues with ball hop. Especially on my upper flipper. Not really the lower ones so much. Anybody have any tips to possibly help with this?

Did you go with the thin bands or regular on flippers? I highly recommend Titan thin bands only which give more control and are significantly less bouncy.

Quoted from baxelrod:

While looking through the service menu, I saw that there are a number of different install options under Utilities -> Installs. Namely:
* Extra-Easy
* Easy
* Medium
* Hard
* Extra-Hard
* 3 Ball
* 5 Ball
* Competition
* Director's Cut
* Home Play
* Novelty
* Add-A-Ball
* Factory
Does anyone know what specific features the Extra-Easy to Extra-Hard difficulty levels change? Also, what is Directors Cut, and Novelty? And what does Home Play set?
Through a little searching on these forums I learned that you can "stack" multiple of these installs. (For example 5-Ball and Extra-Easy). And if there are settings in common, the last installed takes precedence.

Usually the ‘easy’ settings spot shots (start with 2 of the 3 map lights lit) and require less shots to complete modes as well as longer mode timers and ball savers. There’s usually a description in the manual of what the selection does.

Best way to find out what they do is select one and play it. Easy enough to set back if you don’t like it.

Can you share which ones you ordered?

Flipper Ring-Low Bounce Standard?

#12057 2 years ago
Quoted from Manny65:

Does the post drop to let the trapped ball roll down to the back of the gate (becoming a captive ball) or does the post remain up? If the latter then this is the issue as the post should drop down (due to the spring) releasing the ball but still held in the pen by the raised gate. If it does correctly drop then I'd go into switch test mode and check the switches associated with the gate (up/down) as it's like the game doesn't realise the gate is up.

During normal gameplay, with one ball only, a captive shot raises the rod, then lowers the rod, and the ball rolls against the gate. However, during multi ball, with the gate lowered, a captive ball raises the rod and the gate, but the rod never lowers to release the ball to the gate. The machine eventually goes into ball search, but the rod also fails to lower then as well.

Flipper Ring-Low Bounce Standard?

Yes, the low bounce standards are their thinner bands - all I use on my pins and the difference is very noticeable.

FYI, I have a prebuilt kit for JP on Pinside for those interested.

How do I find that kit?

#12060 2 years ago

Hello all. Brand new here in this group. Just got a HUO JP Premium. Got it home and Trex head / mouth not going low enough for ball to roll in. Ball hits lower lip and does not go in mouth ... its not even close. When the Trex head moves down on motor test its sounds like its working harder at the end of its movement ... almost like its hitting something on the back board its attached to.

Question 1 - Can someone direct me to posts on how to right this or how to calibrate T-rex head? I'm sure they are on Pinside but could not find.

Question 2 - I'm bummed about this. While trying to pull playfield out to inspect the back of Trex head I pulled right off rails and the playfield was resting on components under play field for a minute ... not good, rookie mistake. When I got it back on the rails and tested the raptor pen now does not move up and down (it worked fine prior), hits register but gate not moving down. Will not move in test menu either. Any thoughts on where to start on this man made issue? I can take pics if needed.

Help much appreciated in advance folks.

I've tried them all over the years and I use real red rubber on my flippers. It works the best for me.

Same - all the whiz bang colors silicone poly low bounce bla bla bla. Red or black (regular) rubber is my preference as well.

1 - Look in the key posts on the JP Premium thread - lots of TRex adjustment info there. In a nutshell, you’re going to have to loosen the TRex mech from the back and adjust it down from there. Not difficult.

2 - Look for broken wires or unseated connectors.

Which MB does this occur during?

During Raptor Tri-ball, hitting all three targets in the raptor pen and then the centre target will trap the ball behind the raised post for 15 secs (the timer is reset by hitting the captive ball), however the gate shouldn't raise in this specific case.

The behaviour does sound odd and if you've tested the switches and checked that the post is getting stuck in the up position, then might be work logging a case with Stern (is you machine still under warranty?

It’s happened in Chaos MB, and TRex. Since it goes into ball search, I’m guessing there’s an issue and I’ll contact Stern. I am not the original owner…unfortunately Thanks!

Trapping the ball in the raptor pen during Chaos or T-Rex MB should not be possible. At the start of T-Rex MB, if the raptor gate is down the game will raise the gate, hence stopping any balls getting trapped. While Chaos MB will leave the gate in it's current position, but the hits on the raptor pen targets (if the gate is down) don't contribute to capturing the ball.

Can you take the glass off and take a video re-creating the senario (showing starting the MB and then capturing the ball in the raptor pen)?

I bought this game with low plays from someone who replaced the slings and posts with titans. Not sure what type....but I HATED them. The slings threw the balls everywhere...and the post hop down to the outlanes was terrible. I replaced them with the stock rubber, and the game is now playable.

Yeaa, I'm kinda experiencing something similar since switching them to Titans. They are WAY bouncier than normal rubbers. I do like the look of them a lot and the durability, but I'm thinking about ordering a set of superbands to see how I like them in comparison. Seems there are a range of preferences for what types of rings to use between Titan, standard rubber, and superbands.

Any chance the issue is having Pro code installed on a Prem/LE machine or Prem/LE code installed on a Pro machine?

Hhmm hadn't considered that ... given there is mention of the gate being up, I assume the machine is a Prem/LE and if it was running Pro code then T-Rex wouldn't work either, that said it's certainly one to cross off the list of possibilities.

seah2os can you confirm what model you have and whether you have the matching s/w code? Also what version of software are you running?

I’ve had this about 6 months and only started having this issue in the last few weeks. Of course it could have been there all along, and I just didn’t trigger the sequence of events correctly. Matching S/W code..what is that and where do I find it? Thanks!

You have a Premium machine and are running Premium code ("Jurassic Park Pre" stands for Premium). You're running 1.02 (1.03 is the latest) but that isn't the problem. If you wanted to upgrade to the latest update you can download the latest version from Stern (https://sternpinball.com/support/game-code/), or if you're running the customised code with the movie video and audio clips you'll need to send timlah79 a PM to get the latest customised version.

Are you able to post a video showing the sequence to trigger the issue?

#12076 2 years ago

And you have confirmed that the opto is working?

#12077 2 years ago
Quoted from Apex:

And you have confirmed that the opto is working?

My next step is to test the optos. Is there a particular way to do this? However, when the raptor pen is in "Capture" mode and the ball goes in, the rod/gate both come up and the rod subsequently releases correctly to the raised gate, so I've assumed the optos are working.

As of yet, I've not donated to Pinside, so I don't have that option. I can make a video soon and post it to YouTube and then provide a link here. or simply and better yet...donate to Pinside.

You cannot post videos on Pinside (unless you can convert to animated GIF below 8MB or so). However, you can post YouTube links to videos within your posts.

I didn't know there was an opto switch in the raptor pen (although in hindsight it does make sense) - to test lower the gate (Diag->Game->Gate) and go into switch test mode (Diag->Switch->Test), then using a piece of paper or handle of a screwdriver (given it's towards the back of the raptor pen) block the opto beam which will trigger the switch and be reported on the screen.

A lot of Pinsiders post on YouTube and then provide the link. That said you should still donate to Pinside

I'm still confused as to why your game captures the ball during Chaos and T-Rex MB as based on tests on my machine it shouldn't do this

Ditto here.

So latest code version I see on Stern's site is 1.03 which is the version that's been out awhile. Anybody running Insider Connect with 1.03 today on JP? How does it work - doesn't it require a new code version to support the pop-up notifications, etc?

I’m not on the new insider connected code yet but it will be code version 1.04 and it will be a new code update essentially. So if you’re running any custom code, it’ll wipe that out.

thanks, that makes sense. I just thought it was weird they are shipping these IC units but the code is not even available to use them yet - so I guess for now they just do nothing for JP and only relevant for Gozilla at the moment.

Ugh so I just ordered a JP Pro NIB from one of the only places in the country that has em available. Only saying "ugh" cause my bank account is taking a huge hit, but it's my 40th birthday gift to myself so whatever!

Anyways, I am interested in the following mods and wondering if someone can point me to the places to get them if possible.

- Amber shooter
- Moving T-Rex
- Helicopter spinning mod
- Spotlight (one I played the guy had 1 on each slingshot and I liked the extra lights)
- Shaker (same one with spotlight had this and I def need this)

I already got the diecast jeep to do that one, but I think for a start the ones above are what I am interested in.

#12093 2 years ago

- Amber shooter - Ebay very expensive 200 -250
- Moving T-Rex email yoyokopter
- Helicopter spinning mod Mezel Mods just did a new one I think it works very well
- Spotlight (one I played the guy had 1 on each slingshot and I liked the extra lights) IMO I'd do entry level Pin Stadiums
- Shaker (same one with spotlight had this and I def need this) Amazon 130

In september, they said they had "17 titles will be updated with new gamecode to support insider connect", I can't imagine how long that will take.

Thanks for all the quick replies you all!

Has anyone installed this helicopter mezel mod?

https://mezelmods.com/collections/jurassic-park-pinball-stern/products/jurassic-park-pinball-helicopter-blades?variant=39592464089185

The other one I didn't like as much and it has mediocre reviews, but I like the looks of this one better too.

As for shakers, is that pinballlife one the official Stern one? Does having the Stern one really matter in this case?

Any other "must haves" for protection on a new pin too like to protect the shooter lane and stuff?

This is my very first pin so I have a lot to learn about it.

Jeez, for $36 you'd think they would give you the entire helicopter, not just the blades... Looks silly with a plastic flat helicopter and moving blades...

It will be interesting to see what the next version of gamecode for Jurassic Park includes. It's been a year since 1.03 came out. As comparison: Recently they updated GOTG after a couple of years from 1.06 to 1.08, mostly to support a new hardware node board microcode. Since they were releasing a new gamecode anyway, they bundled up a bunch of other small software enhancements that had been labelled "1.07" which had never been released to the public. Very odd. But the August release 1.08 included all of it since they packaged it all up anyway.

For Jurassic Park, I suspect that the NEXT gamecode version will have more than just insider-connect features added, perhaps it will include a handful of midnight projects or other enhancements that had been completed in the past year but didn't warrant an entire release. "We Shall See"!!!!

Not disagreeing with you about the price, but it seems like all mods in this hobby are expensive for pieces of plastic lol.
