Yesterday, during play, I noticed the pop bumpers and slingshots were failing.

After a quick test from the menu, I saw the coils were working fine, so I'm guessing something
is wrong in the switch matrix.

I was short in time and didn't get to test the switches, but in the manual I saw that all these switches are in the same column. In the column are also the smart bomb and gun trigger switch, which are working fine.

Anyone have any idea what can cause this? (Bad diode?) I can't get to the machine until Tuesday, I hate it when that happens

Thanks all!

Thanks! I will go check as soon as I can spend some time in my gameroom

Ok, after a certain switch (2nd in the column) all other switches are not working. The wire can be bad, but I'm having some trouble to follow the wire.

The first two, working switches are the launch trigger in the gun and the smart bomb button in the front of the cabinet.

After that it should go to the left slingshot, but I find it hard to see how it gets there.

Is there an easy explanation for the path of the wire? It's the first time I have to 'trace' a wire so please be easy on me

Thanks for the information, great post! I will go try this out and post my findings here

I think I can check this tomorrow, I hope I can find it!

Found it! The wire on one of the switches was loose... Have been searching like crazy haha, thanks for the great advice!

It was the green-blue wire, but it was at the captive ball switch, which is last (bottom) in the column. This made me wonder about the flow through the columns, maybe there is a good explanation for this?

I thought that if the last switch in the column was 'loose', the prior switches would work.

Or are the first 2 switches (front side of the cabinet) wired directly to the column connector, instead of 'through' the playfield switches?
