My JP was working fine, then it went down with junk on the DMD and solenoids firing. Fuses were blown on the power supply and PPB. Following some tech guidance, I found the bridge BR1 on the power supply was faulty, and changed that. No fuses now blow on the power supply. The machine starts up and begins a game, but here are the problems
1. Fuse F5 on the PPB blows
2. The left flipper button triggers the raptor pit and not the flipper
3. The right flipper button triggers the ball shooter and not the flipper
4. TIP36C Q4 (raptor pit) is shorted, TIP36C Q5 (auto launch) is shorted, TIP36C Q3 (right VUK) appears shorted when the J8 connector is attached. Q3 is not shorted when J8 is disconnected, but Q4 and Q5 are still shorted.
All the coils show resistance, so are not shorted. The bridge BR1 on the PPB is good. I tested the TIP122 on the CPU and they are good, also. So my questions are
A. Could the blown BR1 on the power supply have caused all this?
B. Should I just replace Q4 and Q5 and then test the machine?
C. With Q3 appearing to be shorted when the J8 is connected, does this indicate there is a short somewhere?
D. Could the flipper buttons triggering the other solenoids be due to the blown transistors, or does it indicate something more serious?
All suggestions and help greatly appreciated. Thanks!
