Quoted from winteriscoming:I still get PMs about this. There's no waiting list, I'm not selling them, and I don't know the price... yet. Anyone have a suggestion on where to put this info? I'd put it in the first post if I thought people would read it!
I do appreciate the interest and enthusiasm, though.
I'm working on finishing up 3, as pictured, and will know, and announce, the price once I have them finished.
I'm likely to do a smaller initial pilot group, maybe only 3 or 4, gather feedback and address any issues that impact the design and then open it up a little more to about 10. I might be able to get the initial pilot group out the door this month, but probably not more than that.
I'm not taking names until I have a price. I've also got a few people in mind for the early pilot group, if they're interested, so consider it an invitation only affair. I'll announce when any are up for grabs during the pilot.
Thanks,
Jim
You keep referring to the pilot group. Do pilots get priority?
Quoted from Bos98:And you’ll also end up seeing some excellent work as well.
I have no doubt about that.
Mine is still in the box as well. But my full restoration is coming along so I can't wait to get it installed.
Quoted from woody24:3D Printed?
Still loving mine. Still looks just as good as the day I got it. No chips, worn marks, and the teeth are still all there. Best looking mod of any machine out there.
I second all that. #8 still looks perfect. P
Quoted from winteriscoming:Still working on the details in 3D.[quoted image]
He needs dentures.
Quoted from winteriscoming:Depending on print quality, an entire 3D-printed t-rex could be a multi-day print job. I haven't gotten my printer to be reliable enough to trust it to take on a job that long. A recent print of the back and front torso ended up being a 10+ hour job that I started one night before going to bed. I was greeted the next morning with an extruded ball of spaghetti. The print had evidently failed in like the first hour...
At any rate, piecemeal production is how it's going to go for now. That generally works out ok for me, and there's less waste of time and filament on catastrophic failures.
I'm still tweaking the design here and there, but hope to have something to offer up for sale soon.
Aqua Net unscented hairspray is the key. . What print bed temp you using?
Quoted from winteriscoming:It wasn't an adhesion issue. I think it was an extrusion issue. The first however many layers were happily stuck to the bed.
I have good results with bed adhesion using thinned out Mod Podge. I've had pretty good results with a bed temp of 60 degrees for PLA.
My issues tend to mostly be axis shifting mid print and under extrusion.
That’s interesting. I have a CR10 and have never had any issues like that.
