Hi all,
how does everyone with a j.p. or data east game have thier flippers aligned? I have mine set like a bally/Williams, ie the bottom of the bat is just above the alignment holes on p/f.
I recall reading in a post or seeing in a vid, someone saying that data east flipper bats should be aligned so the middle of the bat lines up with the holes?
any opinions, thanks

Below are a couple of photos of the flipper alignment on my JP.

Mine are as you describe. Bottom aligned to the hole.

I may refresh the position on mine; been the same since I bought the machine in 2000.

Great, thanks alot,
I'll adjust mine up after work today.

Also check the rubber bushings that the flipper links rest on when the flipper is down. They were super worn on my Lethal Weapon when I got it, and will allow the flipper to travel more if they are worn out. I didn't notice on first adjustment, so the rubbers got rotated a bit so the worn out spot was in a slightly different spot, so my flippers didn't have matching travel range. After dialing it all in, the ramp shot on my game is a bit harder, but hey, I guess that's the way it's supposed to be!

Like this or it will play like crap.

I played one that was aligned like a bally/Williams and it was almost unplayable IMO. Very hard to hit anything on the right side.
And I would hit the end of the third flipper from the left flipper when trying to hit the boat dock.

I've been finding most of the long right side shots hard on J. P. Especially the ramp and power shed, hopefully adjusting the flippers proper will help my scores.
I'd be playing my dredd, making all the shots, then jump on J. P. And be frustrated by my lack of accuracy
Thanks

My J. P. Was missing a stop bushing and bracket when I first picked it up and the plunger links were homemade. One of the flippers would bind up halfway most of the time, no wonder it was in storage. All rebuilt now tho ☺

Middle of the bats like mentioned above. Personally I like DE, Segas and my new Sterns slightly lower than that. I align the front plane of the bat, not the rubber, with the hole.

Playing much better now. Hittn the ramp, power shed and dock much easier. Plus can backhand the pop bumpers now. Much improved, thanks

Re aligned mine tonight and it plays much better overall. Shots are more consistent. Here I am thinking it’s my buzzed responses...
