My son was playing JP today and mentioned that the game ended his ball early. A few minutes later he said he figured out when it was happening, and that it was after an unsuccessful ramp shot. I tested it out, and that seems to be accurate. Anyone know what might cause this to happen?

Seems like hitting the left flipper awards points and shots at times, also. Bad diode somewhere, maybe? If so, any strategies for tracking it down?

Thanks!

About time I learn to work on these myself a bit. Thanks for the help.

Ramp shows correctly.

Left flipper shows itself and #60 Right scoop.
Left Inlane shows itself, and inner loop top #20

Everything else seemed to check out ok.

So I checked all the diodes, black on the banded side, and they all tested between .4 and .6 with the switch active.

I don't see any obvious shorts, or disconnected wires.

Thanks, Russ. I will go through and check them all. I know that one of the diodes previously WAS in backwards, and I was able to fix that. I can check by testing the diode with the switch open and closed, right?

Ok then. Lots of testing. Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can figure it out.

MIght be more fun if I felt like I knew what I was doing, haha.

Finally got around to doing some more exploring on this after failing to find the problem the first time around. October is a crazy busy month for me with Halloween.

Anyway, there was a screw that had fallen from somewhere and was shorting out the top Herrerasaurus switch (39), which was why all my diodes and switches were testing correctly. When I tipped the machine up, the screw moved.

Too bad I didn't find it BEFORE I went through basically every switch and diode in the game, haha.

Thanks for the help with this, everyone. Much appreciated.
