Howdy!

I booted up JP and got a message stating 4 balls were missing. Yet, the balls were all in the trough. I checked all the switches and they appeared to all work. No missing diodes, no unsoldered connections, all of them clicked. I went into diagnostics and also noticed most of the coils were not firing and none of the flashers were working. I checked every fuse in the machine (even those under the playfield) and they are all good. I pulled the PPB out and checked all of the transistors, resistors and diodes....all good. I did the test to check the relay but it did not fire (shorted a transistor on the board). Is this a bad relay problem? Or is there something else I should be looking for? Any help would be appreciated. I had just repaired the power supply for this machine earlier this year and everything was working great until recently.

Thanks!

Mike

Did all the switches pass switch test in diagnostic mode using balls to trigger them?

No. When I ran diagnostics, the left scoop and all switches associated with T-Rex were tagged as not working. When I try the game with a live ball and put them in the T-Rex saucer or put it in the left scoop, those features did not respond. Also, during the coil test only two coils fired: The coil that automatically shoots a ball in the shooter lane and the one in the upper right out-hole.

Thanks for your reply!

BTW - I did check the PPB electronics and everything appears to be working okay. I didn't touch the CPU board yet. Sigh.
