I joined the club with a very dirty routed machine.

Lot of problems on it:

Lights in the backbox are all out, but flashers do work.

Upper flipper does not work when pushing the right button.

T rex just moves its jaw during test. Does not go up and down nor left to right.

Found also 2 wires with connectors in the cabinet on the right side

Power supply board raped by an operater.

Quoted from gdonovan:

Optional printer.
For the GI check plugs at power board, PPS board and the connector where the back board hinge is. Look for burnt pins.

Could you give me an indication (picture) where to find the Pps board and the connector in the backbox?
Thanks.

Hello,

Is It possible to post some pictures of the T rex assembly and the wiring of it under the playfield?
Thanks.

Found some issues with broken diodes and broken wires.
Will repair the Power supply board because connector is toasted and 2 fuse clips are broken.

Could somebody post me some close-up pictures of the Cn1 connector and the wiring of that connector on the power supply board?
I cannot read the colors on the schematics in my manual. Thanks.

#9010 2 years ago

Thanks man. One more question about pin 2 and 3 about those orange wires.
What is the position of BR2 and BR3 on the BR?
Pin 2 on Cn1 is connected with BR2 and Pin 3 is connected with BR3?

I need some goggles to read this. I'm getting old

#9011 2 years ago

Does anybody have a clear schematics for the power supply board?

I have problems with CN3, CN1, CN7 and CN8.

I think some wires are not connected to the pin they need to be connected.

Received my repaired power supply board today and only the GI on both slings work. All the rest is dead.

#9013 2 years ago

Thanks man but not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for this schematics with the colors of the wires on every pin of the specific connector like on the Bally Williams schematics.

I had problems with cn1, cn2 and cn 8.

Replaced it and now nothing is working.

#9014 2 years ago

I'm looking for the backbox wiring diagram on pages 47 and further. My copy of the manual has only 1 parts and It is way to small to read it.

Thanks for your help.

#9016 2 years ago

Hello and thanks but this is the copy that I have but I cannot read it.

If possible I would like a clear and large picture of an original manual.

Thanks

#9018 2 years ago

That last picture already helps me a lot. Thanks.

One question about the 2 orange wires in CN1.

Do I need to respect an order or is it possible to swap it on both pins?

#9019 2 years ago

I've also noticed that on my Power supply board the connector between CN2 and CN8 has only a 3 pin connector base, not 5 pins.

Quoted from Davi:

Here you go.[quoted image]

Thanks man,

Could you make me some extra pictures of the other connectors on the power supply?
You have an original manual?

#9037 2 years ago

It is almost back a live.

Only problem is the GI from backbox is out.
Flashers of the backbox do work.
Fuses are all good.

Quoted from Billc479:

There’s a x connector that feeds the back box gi lights. Verify that connector is good

I will try to explain this situation.

When I test the wires from CN8 to the wires in the back of the backbox bulbs I have continuity to all the wires except white-Brown.

When I test the Brown wire in the connecter I receive a signal when I touch the brown wire in the backbox but also when I touch the white green wire on the backbox.

#9044 2 years ago

Is It normal if I touch the full green wire on CN8 if have a continuity signal on the white-green wire on the upper string in the backbox GI and also on the white-green wire on CN8?

All my GI is out now.

Quoted from Billc479:

The short answer is yes.
Check the “Z” connector for burned pins. I’ve attached two pics to show what I’m referring to. On my machine, part of the gi was out because of a bad in in the connector.
Follow the cable from the door, you should see the connector.

Will look at this. Stupid question but I can swap it with a 6 pin molex connecter?

The GI is starting from CN8 from Power supply and splits to the backbox via Z connector and playfield?

I only have GI in the back part of the playfield starting from the 3th flipper.
The front part of the playfield and backbox still out.

Could this be a broken wire or diode?

Thanks.

#9052 2 years ago

Really starting to hate this machine.

GI still out, a lot of switches not triggering and when I trigger left slingshot it triggers als left pop bumper and when I trigger right outlane it triggers another switch.

Pffffffff

#9054 2 years ago
Quoted from gdonovan:

1) Power flows out of the power supply connector to the PPB and then out to the playfield and backglass.
2) Check to make sure you have power flowing out of the power supply board (bad solder joints and burned connector common) and check power flowing out of the PPB past the fuses. (bad solder joints and burned connector common) its a very simple circuit.
4 power lines (and returns) come out of the power supply board, go through the PPB and the 4 fuses and from there to various locations. [quoted image]

Thanks but how do I check it?
Via DMM on the back of the boards?
Via the connectors?
Machine powered on or off?

#9056 2 years ago

GI fixed on the playfield. F4 holder had wacky connection together with J5 on PPB
Sometimes when I power on the machine the under row of the backbox bulbs go on for half a second.
Backbox still dark

Quoted from gdonovan:

Follow the power, back box connector at the hinge known for getting toasted. Try wiggling the connector there to see if it flickers on and off.

Could you give me a picture of that connector please?

Already Thanks for the info.

#9061 2 years ago

Problem solved.

It was a combination of the wires not touching the pin in the connector and the power supply board that was loose in the backbox.

Now figuring out the problem with the ghost switches

Thanks for helping me with this GI
