Quoted from fixintoplay:I'm curious if anyone has ever had DE/Stern "Flippers/End of Stroke Failures" technical service bulletin mod #54 done to their JP flipper control board.
Yup, it wasn't too bad but I can solder pretty good.
You can search this whole thread for "54" and a few other posts come up of others who have done it w/ photos.
I didn't have any issues to begin with but I was just bulletproofing.
I don't know what the difference is but it looks like -01 replaces -00. Pinball Resource mentions it in their listing: http://www.pbresource.com/KT-DEFLIP.html
on the cpu schematic in the manual pins 10 and 11 of cn3 say n.c. 12 is blanking. It also says it goes to cn3 on the master display, but the schematics clearly don't match up with that. Then I was wondering what vec-tor meant. They are one of the smartest people on this website. I googled cn3 data east, and pinwiki has a * for this cpu board that says the extra pins are for the optional printer. I don't see it on the cabinet schematics and I'm not in front of a jp. Is there a plug in the cab with the orange wires for a printer?
edit: the guns n roses manual clearly shows the cabinet printer connection. At first glance all those wires from cpu cn3 are for the printer.
Quoted from shadski:Can anyone tell me where this connects to (opposite CN3)? Or what this powers?

It was for an optional printer, the other end of the orange harness ends in the front by the coin box.
Yah, shorting the eos on this was a hack to improve reliability before they revised the board I think. Check the service bulletin and see if your flipper board needs the mods.
Quoted from Bfults:Forum has been kind of active lately, check this one out.
So, my JP will randomly fire all coils in place of the flashers.
Any Ideas?
something with the relay on page 53/54. I think it would be a problem with the relay, or the signal telling the relay to switch.
edit: the L/R relay, also on page 35 and 88.
Quoted from Jcamm:Does anyone have a picture of the plunger coil wiring? My buddy doesn’t know if he wired it correctly.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Quoted from Preacher:Hi!
can anybody help me to locate where the red wire from these solenoids (no: 11-21, possible 10 as well) attach to the power board?
they suddenly stopped working and I the main culprit at first glance seems to be this wire. I plan to check for continuity (by disconect it from the board and work my way through the daisy chain, machine turned off) because I´m not confident how to operate the multimeter using others "settings" (lite testing for voltage with the machine turned on)

Page 49 of the manual says it's connector 3 pin 6. You are going to have to teach yourself how to use a multimeter.
