Anyone know where I can find the little horizontal decal in front of trex that always gets destroyed? I used to own a scanned .pdf of all the decals but that was 10 years ago and now I can't find it.
D drive pictures/my pictures????
Hi guys
Can anyone please tell me
On the x-pin power supply, the 0,5 amp fuse what is all conected to this?
my dmd went out, but even when disconect red/black power conector for dmd
the 0,5 fuse blows on start up.
rest of pin seems to work good.

^ I plan on ordering the rottendog board today and I'm somewhat proficient with soldering components. My lack of ability comes in when I use the voltmeter. But, as with everything my knowledge base should grow and hopefully ill be able to repair the original soon. I appreciate the tips. Thank you. Hopefully ill be playing jp again soon.
be sure you get the latest version board from rottendog.

We're can I buy the after market T. rex that eats the ball?
probably part by part at some online shops
not a lot of complete assemblys for sale
maybe ebay
i always use a leveler on the playfield,
top playfield ,bottem playfield not on inserts.
best way imo
i think the new code rocks!
things like the better skill shot
ball saver
not starting stampede but random
bug fixes in sounds
better score balance
etc this code isa must!
sure maybe someday 7.0 will be even better
but this rocks!
i love the new code, i'm hoping for a new lethal weapon code wrong topic i know
btw is there a link to a how to change to pinsound with the new music for jp somewhere?

Thanx! now i need to buy pinsound!
Quoted from Agent_Hero:
Going back to this post, so the data(? probably the wrong term for it) required for a hobbyist to attempt a ColorDMD conversion of JP are only possessed by the ColorDMD people? I was talking with my brother-in-law about the ColorDMD in my Metallica and said the hobbyists are clamoring for someone to get it working on JP. He, being a huge fan of the game and possessing software data tinkering know-how (sorry, I'm not on his level to properly explain his credentials), said he'd like to take a shot at it.
Quoted from Agent_Hero:

is a dmd saver realy necessary in a home enviroment?
my cherry dmd stoped working so put in a new one
cherry worked from 1993 till 2016
Quoted from Chitownpinball:
Interesting videos
MY JP needs to go under the knife soon. I dont want to tear it up, but it is starting to suffer.
Things on the agenda:
Replace bridge rectifiers
would love to see a how to on the rectifiers! for future reverence!
Quoted from vec-tor:
T-Rex repair secret!
Note: replacing the jaw solenoid wiring harness.
----- 1) Check your local electronics store for a two wire sheathed harness.
----- 2) When you replace the harness add a circular loop-de-loop (at the
----- hinge bend ). Yes, you will need to replace the screw head tie wraps.
----- 3) Finish dressing the wiring harness to the main base and use you IDC
----- tool to reinsert the new wires to the IDC connector.
----- 4) Reinstall T-Rex and test. ( make sure you have wire to connector
----- to wire continuity ).
----- 5) Finish installing T-Rex outer skins.
picture please!!
Quoted from woody24:
Dang it. I have an issue to track down. Was playing yesterday, and right after the Trex ate the ball, the game thought it was tripped by the slam tilt. Pretty sure it has to be a short, right? Time to break out the schematics I guess.
check your coindoor tilt switch
just in case
same style but with the visitor centre in the distance on one side and maybe spitter and t rex paddock on left side
Quoted from C65Mustang:
OK I have got the bug to paint my pinball legs and other pieces on my JP. Looking around it seems that powder coating is fairly expensive, I got quoted 175.00 bucks to powder coat just 4 pinball legs. What other options do I have to paint the legs, side metal, back box hinge and so on?
car wrap
Quoted from Meloyelo51:
Original flyer with clear pop bumpers, ceramic captive ball, and orange apron decals?
and orange t rex post with the spot light
Not the worst fix ever but at some point previous owner used duck tape to fix the rolloverswitch in the center scoop
The bendibillity of that piece of tape made for a lot of non registering hits.
Now she plays so mutch better.
Previously turned around the gate at the pops entrance so the ball can actualy get in in stead of drop dead down
This is the second JP i own with both this two things, leaving me to wonder how did previous owner play this game?
20181027_161542 (resized).jpg
Thats a LOT of dino's!
Like the red! but personaly i would keep the gun handle black / maybe high gloss black
The baby t-rex upper left is trying to escape from the machine
Quoted from tbaum:
So the one I'm looking at has a small crack on the main ramp - how big a deal is this (apparently it doesn't affect gameplay)? Looking around online, it looks like a part that is hard to replace.
Show us a picture of your crack, some cracks are glueable or even unnoticable when not to big!
No dirty meaning btw
Quoted from tbaum:
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/71244
This is the market listing, you can see the crack in the 5th pic.
There is a second little crack at the screw hole above the pop, won't entervere with ball travel and will probably hold up.
But i myselff would verry carefully remove the ramp and insert some glue from the bottom dide of the ramp.
But when left alone it prob. will hold up.
Just make sure the lane guide doesnt touch the plastic side when opened.
Also the lights above the scoops are missing
And the plastic to?
Quoted from jugood20:
I just purchased a JP this past weekend and one of my bumper posts broke and noticed another one was missing. I ordered some replacements but was wondering if it would be safe to play while I’m waiting for the posts to arrive ? Thoughts ?

What are the best jurassic park mods?
What would you consider the top "must-haves" that really improve the gaming experience?
White rubbers on post and slings, cylicone or pu flipper rubbers whatever you prefer
I would love to have the opening gate mod someday
I have mirror blades so its a little brighter overall
But the best best BEST
mod of them all is the new code by Chad so mutch better ballance in the game, and being able to skip
T-rex test on startup!
Here are some great mods to find
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/share-your-jurassic-park-mods
There are some side blades out there but personaly i find them so so
I like the mirrors as an alternative
I hope one day someone makes sideblades in the style of the back but with electric fences and cool trees on one side and the visitors centre and maybe heli platform and waterfall on the other
but without orange, and without black dinos
Quoted from Daditude:
I appreciate everyone's mod suggestions. (If there are more, keep em comin')

Hey guys! I am in the process of clearing out my mod parts inventory so once parts are gone I will be discontinuing mods and closing out the business. I am focusing on a new business venture and between that, my 9-5 and family, the mod business is just too much and something has to give. I'd like to sincerely thank all of you that have supported me! JP was always one of my favorite games and I'm glad I was able to help make it better for some of you.
I am currently working on 1 last batch of 10 functioning gate mods. Static gates have been discontinued. Smart Scoop Lights have been discontinued. I have a a few static raptor crates and small raptor crates left and will make one last run of moving raptor crates. I have some dock signs and t-rex scoop lights.
Ordered your gate, must have it while still available, was planing on buying later but i understand your situation!
Love your work Tim!

Judging by your picture i looks like your gate and switch with spotlight are on the ramp in the wrong order
Quoted from sataneatscheese:
I am going to respectfully disagree.
I just dropped by Target and picked up a Jurassic Park Jeep. I spent the last 2 hours drilling out the headlights, putting in transparent plastic, rewiring the flashers through it, and getting it all working again. The results... are borderline passable but not nearly as nice as what is on the Modfather's website. I'm going to just order the jeep through him and pass this one to the kids. However... I do think I'm going to go with the kiddie action figure dolls for extra dinosaurs on my machine. I think they are at about the same scale as the T-REX
[quoted image][quoted image]
There are smaller cheeper jeeps available at ali express or amazon!
Quoted from sataneatscheese:
I think the lesson learned here is... not the one from Target!
I ordered the Modfather Jeep, side art, and some trees. I like the Mattel Dinosaurs better than the ones off of other sites because they match the color scheme from the original move. A green raptor would just bug me. The spitter I picked up also looks much more like the one in the movies.
You could use the jeep as a topper?
Quoted from Chitownpinball:
Really hope NOT. Was hoping for JJP on this one. When was the last time Stern did anything outside the box? When was their last awesome new mech that interact with the ball?
Potc ship kinda rocked my boat
Sometimes if placing the wires better doesnt work the wedge holders metal clips are too wide you can carefully bend them together wit a small srewdriver
And make sure the side clips touches the board firmly
Be carefull when bending
Quoted from djreddog:
Ball Save question for everyone that I can't seem to figure out. Running Chad's 6.0 code.
1. I don't see any adjustment for the ball save time (not referring to the raptor kick out save). Am I simply overlooking this setting?
2. Game mode is set to EXPO, when a ball us launched the "shoot again" light will flash for 10 seconds but it never gives a ball save. Could it be that "EXPO" has disabled the ball save logic, but the light still flashes?
I believe ball save is 5 sec in chads code but not changable?
Yes probaby the expo code

You can see latest post here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/jurassic-park-t-rex-side-to-side-motor-issues#post-4934755
Hi Tantrum
Have you checked all in line wired switches or coils diodes in the switch matrix if al diodes are allright, that can cause weird problems.
Check in
rows
and collums
in the matrix for
rex left
rex right
rex center
rex up down
and maybe eject?
Ill post the matrix in a moment
Quoted from vec-tor:
Their was a clear plastic cover for the trough micro switches.
A lot of people/operators have removed this part from many
of the Data East games that where made.
JP did not have it
You can also see in the youtube chanel of vpcabs pinball he recently unboxed a JP realy cool!
Put a white rubber on the post at the bottom pop, white bounces more than black.
Mine sdtm's about 5%
Quoted from Chitownpinball:
Everyone calm down...JP is off the chopping block for now....
I once traded mine, i strangely missed it, now another one is back!
JP is just one of those epic pins you need in your collection.
Quoted from Geteos:
It's based off the picture printed on the plastic. The way the shading comes across to me it looks like a circular barrel so that's what I went with. My thinking is that it is supposed to be a sci-fi -ish stun gun. Where the energy is stored in the yellow chamber.
But also, if you look at the actual gun on the machine. The barrel is also round and matches the aesthetic. So I think it follows pretty well.[quoted image]
I thought it was supossed to be the electric stun pole/gun from the start of the movie to control the raptors
jpark039 (resized).jpg
Quoted from Geteos:
I think it's a reflection of the grass around the sign. I'm guessing the sign was painted in a gloss black, so it would reflect the grass around it causing the dark greenish look.
That's the story I'm telling myself
Quoted from harryhoudini:
Thanks. SprayMax 2X from the can, 2 part. I'm about *this* close to buying some auto clear 2 part since I have spray equipment but I just don't do it enough and the SprayMax works pretty darn well.
I believe theres a topic on the spraying auto clear somewhere, but looking good allready!
Quoted from weasel671:
Does anybody have a lower spring cover for t-rex for sale or know what to make one out of?
I tried to make my own out of a piece of rubber from work, but it was too thick and would not let the rex bend all the way down.[quoted image]
Maybe an inner tube of a bicycle tire?
Quoted from harryhoudini:
Crap, does anyone have this decal? Or want to make one? I bought all of the decals like 5 years ago and thought I had them but this is the only one I am missing. I have a spare one for the t-rex box side which looks like it might work decent there, so if nothing else i'll use that (and bay area has those in stock). I can't even find that decal pictured at any seller.[quoted image]
Hi Harry
PM me your email adres i have a copy on my computer i can mail you
Quoted from harryhoudini:
. I think I realized this when I was bench testing with a 5v power supply to the motor directly, it ran excellently. In the game, it gets stuck far left. Now, manually moving the t-rex it gets stuck far left so I think that is a gearbox issue but if the motor gets more power
Just thinking out loud....
what rom version do you have?
Correct me if im wrong but
Wasnt there an update for power to t rex in one of the later original roms?
Ah found it :
Just in case... maybe by updating your rex became slower?
Revision History: (Included for reference. Info is not complete, but this info was included in official service bulletins)
v5.10 / Service Bulletin #47
Symptom: We have found a condition that occurs in some games , in Game Over Mode. The display blacks out for approximately 15-30 seconds.
Problem: There is a communication error between the game C.P.U. and the display board C.P.U. at which time the game micro-processor goes into a wait status which times out in approx. 15-30 seconds.
Solution: Install CPU/DISP EPROM Revision 5.10.
v5.01/v5.10 / Service Bulletin #53
CPU 5.01 is the latest T-Rex related update. This slowed the left/right motor down to reduce wear and tear on the gears.
CPU 5.10 is the latest revision and was released strictly to eliminate the display blanking out in attract mode.item #4).
v5.0 / Service Bulletin #42
Symptom: The Left-Right motor fails prematurely, or struggles to move the head left and right.
Cause:Damage to the gearbox, due to excessive speed of the mechanism. (The motor operates one of the switches used to stop it’s rotation and due to wide variations of the motor speed, over travels and strikes the mechanical stop.)
Cure: To prevent shock to this motor, use the attached diagram to adjust the left and right limit switches and change the program to version 5.00 as supplied in the kit. The new program provides a more intelligent speed control to help slow it down prior to the limit switch closure.
v5.0 / Service Bulletin #39
Symptom: Sometimes the dinosaur can not properly grip the ball resulting in it slipping from the dinosaur’s mouth. When this condition occurs, and, the ball drains to the outhole before the dinosaur is in the upright position, (TOP SWITCH ON), the mouth coil remains energized, resulting in possible damage to the coil and its associated transistor driver (Q26).
Cure: If you find that the ball slips out of the dinosaurs mouth, gently bend the metal forming the upper teeth slightly outward, this will insure the ball is “swallowed” every time. Additionally, the updated CPU ROM sent with this bulletin will prevent this lock-Jaw condition from occurring even when the conditions described above are simulated. We strongly urge all games be updated to this version ( 5. 00). In addition, this program also allows the dinosaur to operate more intelligently. In the past, when the center switch was not found on its initial search, the assembly would be disabled. Now, this search will be resumed each time the T-Rex “feed mode” is enab
Quoted from sataneatscheese:
This may seem odd, but check the fuses on the shaker motor board in the bottom left of the cabinet.
And the fuse holders, the Data east fuse holders are sometimes crappy
Recieved my gun launcher mod today, looks realy nice in the game sooo mutch better then my cracked plastic one!!
Quoted from Chitownpinball:
I still dont know if my game needs mirror or art blades.
Stickers loop dope. I gotta get in on a set at some point. I did come up with the idea after all!
Im still hoping someone makes sideblades without black dinos
But with visitors centre, waterfall helipad etc.
Still have mirrors cause i think the orange palmtrees are not my thing.
I had this problem once when the slope was not good after moving my pins around, are you sure your apron is good maybe try to masure slope on the playfield directly?

Quoted from delt31:
Does your TREX have diff teeth? If so, where/how? haha
I personally don't mind the TREX in this game as is but new teeth wouldn't be bad!/
I made them myself
I used a white firm plastic food container, i think i got it st the chinese restaurant with noodles i cut out the teeth with some extra length to clamp between the mouth and the inside were the ball is grabbed.
The first time i made the teeth to big and that interfered with the ball so i made them a little smaller.
Just clamped them in, no glue or anything.
There in there for more than a year, never had any problems.
Quoted from Chitownpinball:
Love when people say this. Without new code, no it doesnt. It changes nothing about how the game plays. All it changes is the music, and it changes it to a much slower dramatic tone. Boring. Sorry, just dont agree.
You can get better sound (than stock) with cheaper methods. There was a decent thread from the korn I think who went through a bunch of options.
Link please!
Finaly had the time to install Mr Tantrum's target decals.
Great product, i already have his door decal and he was realy great making me apron decals with cutouts for the lightbulbs.

They look great on your pin. I also like the 10K volt decal you have. I’ll be making myself one today. Did you make it, buy it somewhere, or did it come with the pin?
Made it myself, printed on normal paper and laminated it placed it there for the popbumers are tim climbing the electric fence mode and my entry gate was a little dull and scratched.
Looking forward to see what you make of it!
Quoted from Jimmyapple:
Question on JP board- these guys get real hot- is that normal?[quoted image]
Yes thats normal, the resistors get verry warm.
Or do you mean extreme?
They are from a ceramic material so it can withstand high temperatures.
Judging by the pictures youre fine, but if you have doubts about the heat/ functionality you can easely replace them.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:
Pics look great. I need to send you one of my new decals that I've since developed for the ball launch gate: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/jurassic-park-club/page/139#post-5177673

Im finaly finished with the lighter top layer.
Its pretty difficult to make it looking good in all times of day, and still have a movie like fearsome look without some bright highlights.
For now she's dry and probably the final color, only maybe some little highlights needed.

I thought it would be funny to put a custom message on the DMD (there is one screen you can do that). I made it say "T-Rex thinks Zane tastes like chicken" Zane is my son, and it really cracked him up. Now, he loves showing his friends any time one comes over.
LOL!
Now you need to 3d print a chicken for your t rex and call it Zane
If i was closer i would paint it for you
But the idea of it getting lost in shipping .....
Quoted from MiamiRedSkin:
Any ideas?
Check in the switch matrix in the manual, look up what is firering or activating
Check those rows and colloms if you got a diode wrong side around or somting is shorting.
Quoted from Davedigger:
Can anyone explain what the “special” on the out lanes does? I’ve lit it and rolled over it in tri ball but have no idea what it does... points..etc?
You can set it to extra ball, points, credit
It depends on what code you are running (Chads code is a must!)
Original code: Special can be lit via Egg shot but it is very rare and it can only happen on Ball 3.
Updated code by ChadH : Special can be lit via Egg shot but it is very rare and it can now happen on any Ball.
Quoted from Juicerc51:
Has any thought of using the new stern side blades on the DE? I think the fence wire version and trex eyes are pretty cool. I wonder if they would fit and if they would compliment the older version playfield.
Retro refurbs sells these
Quoted from Juicerc51:
That is listed as being for Stern. Did it fit the DE ok?
I placed them at the most front position cause i wanted the little vulcano on the place where my jeep wouldnt block it next to the vuk. And the gate next to the ramp exit.
You can place them a little further back so you wont see the upper corner, but i never notice it when playing unless i putt my head on the glass
I believe a placed a picture in this tread somewhere maybe you can find it.
Heres two i had on my tablet.
Edit, they are at foto page 22 in this topic

Did you see this thread? https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pin2dmd-colorization-of-jurassic-park#post-4243552
Oh, I just see you posted in it. What files do you have on your SD card?
thats where my trouble begain!
Gonna start with a clean sd tomorrow, and got help from Malenko.
He makes real great collor fikes and has converted a file for me for real pinball.
The VP forms got tons of info, but after reading almost everything, i still found nothing on this.
The problem is also a lot of the posts are about virtual pins.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:
The colorization process is roughly the same for VP and real. You just have to generate and copy the real pin files from your colorization.
Can you posts screen capture of the root of your SD card?
This is all i get
I think he's looking for a protector for the balltrough, sometimes the trough gets little dimples
The plastic v inserts on the bottom of the trough.
I do think it would interfere with the rollover switches, isnt the protector made for opto trough?
Quoted from jamex:
My JP resets very often (once the word slam tilt appeared, the others restart or the screen remains off while the lights of the playfield turned on for a few minutes and then restarts) I think it depends on the 5v right? What are the components to replace on the power supply to restore the 5v? I'm not familiar with electronics but I'm handy with the welder
Have you first cheked the , door slam tilt?
Quoted from edward472:
So I posted a couple of weeks ago about my auto launcher being sluggish. Now the auto launcher has stopped completely after a game a couple of nights ago. I checked the fuses, coil , reflowed the wires on the coil. Nothing. I went into the coil test and can't get it to fire. All other coils are firing. I've got guest coming over Saturday itching to play. Help!
Picture of the mech please, can you manualy move the plunger in the coil? How is the coil bushing
Have you checked the switch matrix, the wireing and conector and pins at the boards?
As stated before they get hot, but if you dont feel good about the temperature they are causing lets say extremely hot at the board
You can replace them easely and raise them a little higher for better air flow.
There was a topic on resistors somewhere sometime, ill try to find it.
There were some pictures of boards that were toasted.
But again, they just get hot.

The auto launcher of my potc is very weak, the ball never reaches the top of the ramp, how can I solve it? At first glance everything seems ok, I put the sleeve new but the same result
Have you checked the position where the ball gets hit.
I placed small spacers in my potc autolaunch when i had this problem and after that and cleaning the coil and making shure the plunger tip was not out to far so the ball gets hit fermly by the autolauncher.
The problem was gone.

Can’t be disabled.
Isnt this disabled (along) with the raptor freeze in the (expanded) adjustment menue?
So that they both disable?
Doesnt move at all? Did you push the flipperbuttons for left right and the start button for up down?
The gun trigger moves the jaw.
In diagnostics is the centerswitch activated?
