Im in the process of shopping my JP. First time so fingers crossed. Im looking at buying the flipper rebuild kit from pinball life and was wondering if the upper flipper just takes the same rebuild kit as the lower right flipper? Also while everything is apart is it worth it to put new coils in? Thanks, David

Does anyone know the best way to get the lower jaw off the trex? I’d like to send it to get redone by the modfather and all of the body pieces simply unscrew but the jaw plastic is riveted on. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Hi everyone. So I rebuilt the flippers on my game. Rebuild kits plus new coils. Everything checked out fine. Was on my 5 or 6th game and the left flipper went completely dead. I turned it off, checked to see if the wires were still on the coil. They were, turned it back on, still dead. Smacked the flippper button a couple times, flipper moved briefly, then went dead again. Anything in particular I should check or look for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David

Ok. I’ll give that a try. Thank you

Quoted from newovad:

chalkey gave me this advice a few months back.
"If you moosh together the eos contacts (or bridge them with a test lead) does it flip? There is a service bulletin about this issue. I had it happen after doing a flipper rebuild kit."
Also, lonzo suggests the following: "During the time that it is dead, are you getting the red light on the flipper board? Also check your connections to the flipper board. When it is dead, try moving the connectors around. May need a new connector or the solder may need re-flowed on the pins."
So, check those EOS switch contacts and check your fuses/fuse clips on the flipper board.

Smooshing the EOS contacts together totally worked. I guess I had them adjusted a little to far apart when they were opened. Thanks again for the help

My T-Rex is giving me problems... worked perfectly. Took the plastic body off and since putting it back on the mouth doesn’t open up quite wide enough to eat the ball. I tested it with the body off and eats the ball no problem...? It’s like the body is not letting the bottom jaw open up fully. Can the body be installed wrong or is there a trick to getting it “seated “ correctly? I know the inside of the plastic has some ridges that look like guides. I’m stumped..

Does anyone know if the ramps for sale at pinball life and Marcos are the same? PL says reproduction and Marco has it listed as the whole ramp assembly including the flasher and everything that would be mounted to it, but nothing about being a repro..

Hi everyone, turned on my machine tonight and noticed that when the flasher thats below the upper flipper flashes the machine is making a funny "rurp" sound from the speakers and the sound is cutting in and out. Only happens when that flasher is being triggered. I do have a pinsound board in the game if that makes any difference. Played it yesterday and everything was normal. Any suggestions on what to check or what might be causing it? thanks so much

Can anyone explain what the “special” on the out lanes does? I’ve lit it and rolled over it in tri ball but have no idea what it does... points..etc?

I have a quick question. On my main board I have a column of what looks like ceramic blocks that are getting fire hot to the touch. crazy hot. Is that normal or a prelude to something bad getting ready to happen?

Is it normal for the board to look discolored from the heat?

#7206 4 years ago

Reason I asked about the board getting hot is because I’m having a crackling noise out of the upper right speaker. Thought the speaker was bad. Replaced all 3 but still hear the crackling noise out of just that speaker. Any suggestions on what to do next? It’s a crackling sound not the data east hum.

Quoted from DaveTheTrain:

What do I need to mount the flying dinosaurs? I assume some kind of stiff wire? I have no idea on specifics l and if I order something online I'm worried it won't be good enough (not stiff like the original stuff).

Try looking on Ebay, you might be able to find an original set with the wires
