Hi guys.

I just joined the club, picked up a fairly original looking JP yesterday. It is my first data east table so I'm trying to get my head around the adjustments and test functions. It is a bit different to Bally/William (which is what I am used to) took me an hour to find the volume control it has a few issues like the raptor kick back not working and some lights out etc. once I fix it all up it will be sweet. I'm looking forward to reading past posts in this club to find out what I need to know first impression is that it is a great game and my kids already love it.

Finished up the lower cabinet this weekend... Love this pic.

Why the hell'd you print a photograph of a motorcycle into your cabinet artwork? That's ridiculous. There's only a motorcycle in Jurassic World, not Park.

So with a cabinet like that, do you have to wax it every time you wash and wax your cars too? Nice work!

#4554 5 years ago

Dude, that looks awesome

#4555 5 years ago

Wow! Spraymax?

That’s the same clear I use.

Very nice work.

Do you find it to be a PITA to polish? Next time that I spray it, I'm going to try to polish at 24 hrs otherwise it seems far to hard.

Yeah. I’m not a professional and I don’t have anything to compare it too but it takes some work but have never really had a problem. I do my cabinets and playfields. I usually spray flat so I have a pretty good finish to start with.

I did this last coat flat. Just seems like the pigtails from sanding are hard to buff out. This last coat, I started hand sanding with 1500 then DA 2000, 2500 & 3000 grit before I switched to the buffer. I had to work to get the pigtails out which had to be no more coarse than 2000 grit. I'll probably try a different clear after I run thru this gallon that I have.

This seems like a good place for this too...

Old vs, brand new? Or newly re-shined? If those are brand new replacement guides, you may have some people wanting some of their own as those tabs are prone to breaking. I had to have mine re-welded.

These are new cut from 304 stainless steel mirror polished. Prototypes will be on my machine then I'll start taking orders. TZ & Met to follow.

I really need those guides. Let me know if you are going to sell them. Mine right side one is broken.

I was rebuilding my flippers today and noticed that my upper flipper did not have a EOS switch. The two lower flippers both have EOS switches.
Is that the way it should be?
Bought a 2+1 flipper kit and it came with 3 EOS switches, so whats the correct setup?

#4571 5 years ago
Quoted from Wiggy:

my upper flipper did not have a EOS switch

Correct!

#4572 5 years ago
Quoted from woody24:

Stock, there's nothing on them. But what I did was add two small rubbers on the ends of the two wiresforms that come down.
[quoted image]

Quoted from tjprice222:

Mine used to do that as well. Loosen up that nut holding the rail and move it slightly to the right. When you re-tighten the nut, hold the rail because it will want to pull to the left and that’s causing the ball to go over the sling shot. Mine did not have a bumper either. Should be an easy fix.

I moved the ramp all the way to the right, which made the ball fall out less frequently, but did not eliminate the problem entirely.
Adding two post rubbers to the end of the wire form seems to be the winning ticket.
Haven't had it happen since I put them on.
Much thanks, it seems like problem solved.

Playfield Service Rails:

Anyone have a part number used with sucess for playfield service rails? Williams type.

Even if we can only use one in the middle like a spooky pin, it would be an upgrade.
Thanks in advance!!

#4574 5 years ago

Yeah that would be awesome. I keep putting off repairing my little service leg things that are each hanging on by one screw.

#4575 5 years ago

I bought the little feet that can prop the playfield up. I forget who makes them. I havent put them in, but I have them, lol.

#4576 5 years ago

Help please. Shoot T-rex lamp doesn't work. The red/green wire under the playfield is going nowhere after the IDC connector.
What is the location of associated diode?
Thanks!

Just received this pin. It's the east dock sign, and will fit perfectly with the game. Plus the arrow spins!

Another newbie flipper related question; Does the eos switch effect the flipper strenght on a JP in any way? Or does it work like wpc fliptronic games?

#4580 5 years ago

WPC Fliptronic...
If the ball hits the flipper to hard and causes the flipper to fall back,
the End-Of-Stroke switch should close and re-trip the circuitry and re-energize the flipper.

#4581 5 years ago

JP has a service bulletin about eos switches. They can definitely cause weak flippers in the game.

Where would the service bulletins be posted?

There are quite a few SB's at the following URL.

#4584 5 years ago

Is there a way to tell if the EOS switches have been replaced? I know one bulletin mentions changing them out instead of doing the board work.

#4585 5 years ago

Oddly enough changing mine to new ones somehow caused the problem

#4586 5 years ago

Service Bulletin #54
1) replace old End-Of-Stroke switch with kit
--- Update Kit 500-5821-00
--- includes E.O.S Switch and 180-5124-01 Spacer with instructions.
--- The new E.O.S. Switch is wider and has backup blades attached.
2) Replace S.S.F.B. # 520-5033-03 with new board.
--- #520-5076-00.
3) MODIFY S.S.F.B. #520-5033-03.
--- Added circuitry which prevents the failure of the flippers
--- if the E.O.S. switch fails.

Quoted from Wiggy:

I was just thinking if I should change my eos switches aswell when doing the fipper rebuild, but since they work I might just leave them for now.

Did you get an answer?

If not, let me know and I'll take a look tonight.

#4589 5 years ago

I sent Davi photos of my pin that has been setting in the repair line for a year......I hate buying pins from folks that say that are in good working order

Yes, I've got pictures from hawkeyexx. Thanks again, and also for your offer.
Now that lamp is working. Next task is to stabilize ball trough. This Data East design is a bit... Not very well done.

That thing takes a beating. I wonder how it will hold up over time. I have printed stuff for my game before but nothing that actually gets hit by the ball.

The material is ABS. Should not be an issue, especially at home environment.
If I have to change it... I can get a new one in 2 hours from the printer.

#4596 5 years ago

nice, can't beat the turnaround time. You should print it in translucent yellow filament that way you can light it up.

Been adding a few things to the Jurassic Park and having my 7 year old son help me.
Getting him involved on doing little things has really peaked his interest in pinball.
Last week he helped put LEDs in the back box.
Tonight we replaced the captive ball with a white ball we got from MARCO so it looks like an egg.
We also put in new metal instruction cards that we got printed from Adam - member djsolzs on pinside.

Pretty happy with it and stoked my kids taking an interest like he is.
