New JP owner. How do I know if I have the latested update rom from chad? How would I get it if I don't have it? Thanks.

Look for V.6.00 when you boot up. If it’s not that then you don’t have the latest.

Tech question...I made the score leader board last night but couldn't get my initials to register with my flippers for some reason. I am running the newer code...does that have something to do with it? Flippers obviously work fine when playing.

Hi Fellas,I have a quick question for you,Do most JP pins have a Whitestar system in the backbox.I have seen some with a DE system and some with the Whitestar system,Was it half and half while in production?I would really appreciate any info i'm trying to help a fellow Pinsider on his machine.

Thank You!!

When Jurassic Park came out in 1993, there was only the Data East MPU. The Whitestar system came out in 1995 and Jurassic Park: The Lost World by Sega was released in 1997 with Whitestar. They do share the same DMD display driver architecture, but other than that are completely different games.

I swapped in a new set of stadium style lighting today. These are slightly dimmer and a warmer white and much better than the other two sets I tried. One set was way too bright for JP but looks super in Baywatch. The other set was a cold white and did not look good, but looks great in Slugfest.

Excellent point. Now that I think about it, I think there is evidence someone a 100 Miles offshore from Costa Rica is hoarding them.

Everything is sold except the Alternate Topper. Lowering the price to $200.

Are these the plastic protectors to get? There's no photo to show what all comes in the set. Didn't want to go digging through all the pages to see where people have bought theirs.

EDIT.
NM. Found a post from Gord.

I have been looking for one of those since I first got my JP. Where did you find yours at?

#4374 2 years ago

Matchbox just released them as a legacy collection for the new movie. Target has them.

That set is under $6 at target

#4377 2 years ago

Target also has some mini dinos. There's two sizes of rubber ones. Small and smaller. The smaller ones come in a blind bag, so you don't really know what you're getting. But they also come in a 3-pack slightly larger ones. Same exact mold, just a tad bigger.

Could be cool to get a Spitter to mount above the spitter targets.

I can't find a listing for it on the Target website. I guess it's in store only.

Yeah must be, I didn't see them online either but every target I went to had them.

Yep. Got my $6 set at Target. They have individuals, and all that were left were Jurassic World cars. Guessing someone came and plucked all the Jeeps and Explorers.

#4381 2 years ago

Found the Matchbox 5 packs at my local target. Make sure to check the isle with all the other Jurassic World toys, not the isle with the Matchbox cars!

#4382 2 years ago

The good sets were sold out at the one I went to yesterday... I only managed to find a single pack with the Jeep. I want the Ranger.

The singles were 1.95, I believe.

Good pin. What’s the current price for a Jurassic Park?

#4385 2 years ago

Anyone know where I can get the lamp holders for these? They seem like they're riveted on through the plastic housing and different from what I see at pinball life. Mine are melted and the bulbs wont stay put.

Do you guys have a rubber on the post on the top dead center loop in the back of the playfield? Screenshot attached was "borrowed" from Lonzo's photos of his build. Couldn't find a picture of the post in my collection.

When I rebuilt my JP, the post there didn't have a rubber, but the post had a notch in it, that showed like it may have at one point. So I put one one. Looks like Lonzo's post is smooth, showing that it's just a post and not supposed to have a rubber on it.

I'm going to pull the rubber off because it seems like it deflects balls about 50% of the time. But was concerned that the notch would gouge the ball.

Just curious what everyone else has.

No rubber on mine.

Livin’ dangerously!

#4391 2 years ago

That looks like its behind the ball guide. Why would a rubber be needed?

Quoted from Neal_W:

Sorry. Not the plastic ones. The metal one between the ball guides.

Quoted from ChadH:

Do you know if yours is one that's normally made to hold a rubber? Or is it similar to the image above?

I just cut the rubber off. That post is in a bad position to grab hold of without taking out the ramp.

#4393 2 years ago

What a difference a clean game makes. Had a few areas that I've been waiting to fix. Finally decided it was time. Got rid of the rubber at the top loop. Installed brand new balls. Cleaned and waxed the playfield and rubbers. And got rid of my Cliffy Protectors.

Decided the Cliffys just rejected too many shots, and if my machine was routed, I'm not going to cause much more hole wear. Makes the shots much more forgiving now. Those couple extra mm's and a right edge vs rounded wood make a load of difference. Also, I angled the scoops back to their original location after pushing one side back to make sure the ball could kick out. I much prefer the old original angle. The ball goes to the flipper now instead of 50% of the time being kicked by the slingshot.

With that said, I have a used set of Cliffy's if someone wants to buy them. The center scoop one is broken in the back right. But doesn't affect protection. It's separated at the rear, so it won't deflect any shots. $25 shipped. *SOLD*

People are clearing out the cars at Target, but I did manage to find a 5-pack with the Explorer I wanted.

Quoted from Time:

You may have to buy some attached to other kinds of brackets, drill out rivets and rivet new sockets to your old JP bracket.

#4397 2 years ago

Huh... the single pack JP jeep I got is different than the one in the 5 pack. One is Jeep 12 with a translucent amber cover and the other is 18 with a wire cage and no cover.

What's the number on the one in the t-rex chase in JP? 10?

jp jeeps (resized).jpg

#4398 2 years ago

They sell both of them in singles, the covered jeep is the only one not in the 5 pack. The Mercedes from lost world is also green in single and grey in the 5 pack.

yes it is the number 10 on that jeep

#4400 2 years ago
Quoted from C65Mustang:

Wonder why they didn't make a 10. I didn't care until I noticed this...

I probably wasn't going to do anything with the Jeep in the game, but I think I will try to do something with the Explorer.

FYI to anyone interested who doesn't make it to Target that often, or doesn't want to go there just to find they're out of stock, Amazon does seem to have the 5-pack for about $10 at the moment, which may be worth the extra $4.
