I have had mixed experiences with the "local plater". Ok to have a bunch of parts nickel plated with no prep work. Not ok to chrome visible stuff. For instance, I had some ramp flaps with rust. The local plater did a crap job and in the end I had to use Ron.

My local guy did not do any extra prep work so if yours does you should be good.
