I got one of the weakest knocker that I have ever come across. So I am wanting to replace it that one that has a loud thump to let you know that you just won a game. Can any brand/manufacturer knocker work to achieve the thump that I'm looking for? If so, what would be a good one to get?
I got the marcospec data east one and hammered out a spare metal shooter lane guide (the ones with the hump in it) for the side of the cab. You should be able to use the coil from the stock one. The bell armature in it has a nice fat nylon tip, none of that wimpy stuff there. Added it to my flight 2000 since surprisingly in my parts stash I did not have a classic stern knocker.
I'm used to the WMS style one so I don't update the williams games, they are the wimpiest of the classic lines with Gottlieb being a close 2nd. Bally and Stern were always a nice thwack.
Maybe I should add one to black knight since that just uses the bell - I always liked the later games like Taxi that had the bell AND a knocker.
