Thanks. Could you send me a pic or circle it in the pic I posted? I've only had it for a month. I will probably put an nvram in eventually.

Yay! My Junkyard is 100% again. After much searching I finally found a popped solder joint. 2 minute fix and shes good as new. Installed replacement Bob and Spike decals, some titans rings and fixed a few lighting/switch issues. Looking good. Now I just need to update to ver 1.2
Just looking for some confirmation.
After moving the playfield my crane doesnt want to stay up anymore. I took a look and the coil have a popped solder joint and I found a loose frayed brown wire with a purple stripe. It's almost a given that the wire goes to the coil but I'd like some confirmation before I solder it back on incase I'm way off base. Anybody that can send me a pic of the back of your crane would be helping me out. Cheers.

It goes on that Coil if you haven't fixed it yet, here is pic of mine.
20190512_181607 (resized).jpgHey club.....sorry to say - I've left the club....sold my early production JY ($4100...not too bad..was gone in <24hrs)....it was time to move on - going to pick up an RFM for the lineup....I had JY for 5 years....highly underrated pin....was happy to contribute my magnetic reed switch experiments to JY owners.....oh, if anyone needs it - I'm not entirely sure I want to let it go - but I have an unobtanium part(s) for JY....a NOS wrecking ball with chain - impossible to find anymore.....just look me up....
Out of the club. Just didnt work in a smaller collection. Took a tiny hit on the sale but it frees up cash for something new. The new owners should be pleased though. I basically did nothing but fix the game up while I had it. She is a beauty.
Traveled to Seattle Wa this weekend for a wedding. Told the wife I didn't want to waste a trip with out picking up a pin. Have had a JY on my want list for sometime and was able to pick one up. I am officially joining the club.
20190608_165532 (resized).jpg20190608_165546 (resized).jpgDid you just grab that off Craigslist or where did you find it? (Curious what you paid, if you care to divulge (pm?) — I fully restored one a couple years ago and still have it.. have been wondering what it would go for
Yes, I did get it off Craigslist. I bought it from JP in Seattle if you know him as he is very involved in the hobby along with the NW pinball show. I have wanted one for sometime and have followed prices for years now. I follow a machine prices here on Pinside and elsewhere before I purchase and/or sell. So I don't mind sharing the price which was $3800. He did throw in a set of mirror side blades for the machine. I felt the price was fair and the condition of the machine was in good shape. Would have liked better (maybe yours), but the difference was that I could touch, feel and p/u without shipping costs which if does happen, I feel adds to the cost of the machine. Most of the JY machines for sale on Pinside at the time I purchased this one reflect about the same advertised price.
Do to want to sell your machine or just wondering price? I did advertised where I live that I was looking to buy one on Craigslist, maybe you missed it. Anyhow I think I will be happy with the one I got, just will need a little TLC for my collection.
Thanks for the info — I def do know Jp, I’ve transported his games to the show several years
I off and on have been thinking about selling mine. I am still working on trigger wiring for a shaker I installed, for when you hit the wrecking ball. Once I finish that and get done more games in on it I’ll probably look to sell it at some point although it’s hard because it’s by far my nicest pin and I put a ton of work into it.
Little surprised to hear jy up to 3800. I figure that puts mine around 5k - 5.5k to the right buyer.. colordmd, chrome legs, rail, lockdown new decals, new pf and every part replaced or refurbished. . Even at that price, never get all my time and money back
If anyone is interested, I just purchased a replacement plastic, the one that is under the left side under the cars...I am currently shopping out, (this) my other Junk Yard pin and desperately needed this plastic part. I tried to make a replacement for the missing pieces but gave up. I ordered from the guy in Germany, took awhile to finally get it here in the States, as he doesn't ship directly here,,,what a pain in the ass, cost me about $40.00, so I am offering a full sized JPG. scan if anyone is interested...
It arrived and looks kind of like this, sans the clear plastic dome. The color "orangeish" is more "brownish" on the part also, not like the enclosed picture.
Mick
I will be selling this pin soon also, so if anyone has a friend interested, Chicago area, $3,950.
image_63709_1_484x484 (resized).jpgI have been fighting to solve a problem on Junkyard. The Fork Lifter in the DOG lane (Scoop up) does not go all the way up. See my video. Now I have cleaned the whole assembly part by part. It worked, for about a week and the problem returned. Then I replaced the main coil for the lifter, scoop up (the coil that does the lifting). It worked again, for about 3 weeks. Now it is back. So I replaced the driver Q26. Still does not work. Then I replaced the switch and diode that is used to detect wether the scoop is up or down. Again it worked for a while and now the problem is back. So I am asking for some help, advice, maybe someone else saw this same problem and solved it.
Anyway. Please help. Thanks. Joe.

It looks from your video that it’s not latching when you cool fires to hold the fork up? I’d have to look at mine - but I’m assuming there’s a latch and a mini coil releases it? Is the latch loose from wear or worn and slipping? Is there play in it? That’s all I can think of.. or fork may be broken and causing that? The back piece (under pf, that is welded between the 2 forks) is intact still?
Just joined the club.
A fitting first impression of my Junk Yard was how it arrived. Glass smashed in to a million pieces. I had so much “fun” cleaning it all out of the machine.
The game was a mess from it. I ended up stripping the entire machine down and it is still sitting in pieces in my garage as I have been waiting for parts to arrive to get this back in shape.
A few previous operator hacks which will need to be addressed and some cabinet touch up.
Hopefully getting the damage and cleanup covered by the insurance from STI won’t be too painful!

It's fun machine. I bought a routed machine a few years back. It needed a ton of hard work too.
Hello, I have a new laseriffic topper for a Junk Yard pinball machine for sale here: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/87962 New in box as I never took it out. Have since sold the machine. Selling at a discount and shipping is the same I was charged from Coin Taker.

It was a must for me. I went with the LCD so I used the HiRes setting and it fits perfectly with this theme.
Also, the 3d car surround mod is a great mod. I was able to buy 3, 1 for me and 2 for friends and had another friend paint them. Check out post #103. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/junk-yard-3d-cars-surround-mod/page/3
Quoted from PinballT:Replacing both ramps and need decals. Does anyone know where to get decals for the ramps?
Thanks!
Last I checked, you could get one for the refridge little feed ‘ramp’ but None available for actual ramps themselves or car surround plastic
Quoted from Mbecker:car surround plastic
Why would you want something that will eventually break after replacing with another.
The clear choice is one that is not clear.

Quoted from mastercello:I did transfer them from my old ramps...really easy with the right 3M sticker foil (467MP)
How did you get them off? Razor blade?? Did they break?
Thanks!

Get them warm with a hairdryer or a heat gun and peel them off carfully.
Or do it like i did: use Naptha and take your time slowly peeling off the decal as the Naptha softens the glue.
You can then use Naptha to remove the old glue and use the 3M tape (467MP) to reinstall.

That’s not the clear surround to which I’m referring — that’s the front facing one and the 3d print mod is awesome - I have it in my game. The clear surround wraps around the back. Two different pieces. The surround has the sticker on top.

Is the back clear surround piece broken on your game? I haven't seen any pictures of any broken ones yet.
Probably could check to see if one of the guys who makes ramps can make this too. Then a decal would have to be made with the text for the top.

You can pick up the car surround plastic at pinball spare parts as long as you don't mind shipping from Australia.

Unfortunately the sticker that accompanies this plastic is not being reproduced. I've contacted Rick@PPS about this multiple times without any resolution as it's the last thing I need for my restore.
If anyone has this plastic with the decal still attached that they'd like to sell, please PM me.
Quoted from dfester007:I saw this in an earlier post and I couldn’t help but try my hand at making one for myself. Shooter needed to be rebuilt anyway. Think it turned out pretty well.[quoted image][quoted image]
Looks Great. Can you make me one???
Just order the play field dog plastic... trim it a little... fill with epoxy with shooter rod. I sprayed with a clear to protect the paint
Quoted from JodyG:Just gauging interest... I have a set of NOS junkyard ramps and am looking at making molds of them to reproduce. Is there any demand for these?
Build it, people will buy. I don't think you can count on these club threads as a way to gauge interest. It seems some of the ramps do break often enough to say....yep, make them .
Hi from Italy,
I'm helping a friend restore a Junk Yard. Playfield looks ok but some of the insert graphics are gone. We can't find insert decals anywhere. Does anyone have a high quality playfield scan in order to be able to recreate them? Thank you
