Jungle Queen
Gottlieb, 1977I am new to restoration of pinball machines and currently have a Gottlieb Jungle Queen machine. I am at the point of replacing the bulbs, but do not know how to remove the bulbs from under the playing surface. Any direction in this area is appreciated.
Like anything, opinions will vary. With the machine off, carefully bend the tab enough to make removal of the bulb easy. After the bulb is changed and the insert is cleaned (now's the time) - then bend things back.
For general illumination bulbs that poke through the playfield tackle those from above the playfield. Note some or many sockets may need repair or replacement. If the base spins easily then the lamp will be dim, flicker, or not light.
