Im having trouble with my jungle lord..
I belive the ribbon cable shown in this pic is the issue..
Also the 3 roms to the left of the cable are in very rough shop.. repaired sevral times... im not sure what these 3 are .. im looking for a company or someone that has or makes these cables .. also searching for these roms ..
Any info or help is appreciated...

Love the game. Pulsed magna-saves and timed features make it great fun.

Just noticed you have a Firepower. That uses the same sound card + speech card as Jungle Lord (with different digitized speech of course).

Those rom sockets are famous for going bad. They should be replaced. The ribbon cable is not the 1st thing I'd look at.

Rom legs can be cleaned up a bit. Been using an art gum eraser, or sometimes a fiber glass sanding pen on legs. Can also re-tin them with solder and quickly wipe off the excess. They look like the rusty legs that tend to break off. There are people around here that can burn another set of roms for you, might have to search the threads. There is also a custom game rom set which adds skill shots and a "magna whirl" bagatelle random lane change (controlled by the magna-save buttons).
Pinwiki.com is my go-to site for repair tips, but I don't know how much they have on the sound boards. There have been other System 7 sound board repair threads, which might have good info.

Thank you

I ordered a reworked speach board with roms and ribbon cable.. hopefully it does the job.. roms have been fixed sevral times ..ribbon is very brittle..

IPDB had a link for the home rom software (two roms). I think the roms correct one of the things I did not like in the originals, that random bagatelle sequence that takes you out of the game.

Where did you find your re-worked sound board? Been fighting with mine for the last month and about to give up on it.

I’ve replaced the ribbon cable, re-capped the board, replaced the header pins, re-socketed everything but the board is still acting up... sometimes will go through self test but not all the speech seems to complete.

I’m starting to also suspect roms.
