My neighbor purchased a lot of jukebox stuff to get a part to fix his. He now has a handful of NSM jokeboxes and was looking to get rid of. Any interest? Located in Duluth, MN.

Looking for a nice Seeburg 201! Have a beautiful Seeburg VL200 to trade. Within a reasonable driving distance of Philadelphia. Prefer not to ship

My Wurlitzer 1900 just stopped making selections. I selected a few records and received that satisfying solenoid sound, but on the fourth or fifth selection, nothing. After those selections played, I tried various combinations of Letters and Numbers. It's as if the signal isn't making it to the selector coils, and those solenoids aren't firing. Any idea where I can start troubleshooting?

I might have a chance to buy this fully working Rockola jukebox.
Anyone got an idea what kind of Rockola (type) it is? And what they're valued at?
Thanks!

Just picked this up. Records work great...CDs skip but it'll be fun to dig into.

I hear those CD drives go bad after a while. There's a guy or two that repair them...or you can replace with an old/refurbished one.

I removed the cartridge, reinserted the CDs and did a service reset of the player. Seems to be working fine now. It may have been sitting unused for a while, so it may just need to be worked a little. Fingers crossed.

Excellent. enjoy! Can you share a pic of the two mechs (CD/45)? These combo units have always interested me

The record part is a standard Rowe mechanism they used through the entire 80s. The CD player is at the bottom (not shown). It's a standard Sony 10 CD player. The jukebox has to go through and index each CD and song after you program the jukebox to do so. It takes 10 minutes to complete then you just select the CD (2 numbers) and song (2 numbers). Pretty simple.

It's likely that the CD laser reader is going bad when it begins to sound like a record thats skipping. I'm only familiar with NSM and Rock-ola, which both used the Phillips Industrial CDM line of laser players. If the problem continues you can have the player rebuilt. There are a number of companies that provide this service. Here's one: https://videogame911.com/philips-cd-pro-2-laser-repair/

EDIT: Sorry, after looking at that again, it's a combo which didn't use an industrial laser player.

Hey so I am finally doing some light restoration on my Rock-Ola 1428 does anyone have a good picture of the underside of the tone arm I want to verify a few things. Thanks

Well I had all but given up hope forever ago, but a sudden random fluke-brain thought last week to "haven't searched ebay on this in a while, hmm..." turned up a lead that ended up better than I could have hoped for:

A set of nearly-new title holders for the RO 437-438-440, which were essentially unique to those models only and horrifically yellow-to-brown with exposure. And these were a matched set with the factory stamped index numbers on the edge! What's even funnier is it came from a seller whom I'd purchased from in the past, and had asked in the past yet he did not have them then. But he'd just recently dug into a deeper stash and found some parts. Amazing.

FINALLY instead of nasty opaque nicotine-skittle shitstain, my title board looks new, even when lit!

Maybe seeing it like this will endear these models some love. The board would normally be brighter, but I've printed my title cards mostly on thin paper so they still illuminate even *without* the UV/heat stain inducing tube directly beneath.

Any good videos on how to spray metal to look like wood? Or better yet any shops around Maryland or northern Virginia that know how to do it?
I want to have the door to my Rock-Ola 1428 redone. I have the door off and striped of all plastics, wiring, chrome etc. It is supposed to look like the wood the cabinet light Burch I think.

Any advice on finding someone to repair a Rowe R-86? My father in laws jukebox is having some issues and he can’t get a hold of his old repair guy.

We are located in the Cincinnati OH area.

Can’t help with OH, but there is an outfit that provides phone consultation and YouTube videos. Look up A&B Jukebox Repair.

Hello friends. Recently my W1900 started to have a rattle or crunching sound only when the record carrier is turning, or when the record is lifting into position. Once in position the rattle/crunch stops and the record plays as usual until the record is lowered and the carrier starts to turn again. I'm not sure if a motor is failing, or if a gear is getting fouled up. Any insight would be appreciated.

Going to be thinning the collection, still thinking about what to keep for sure but if anyone is interested, there is a beautiful original rare Stero Continental 1 with (2) Ami round external speakers & 200 select wallbox, very nice original Rockola Tempo 2 120 select with (2)Rockola external speakers & wallbox, and nice original Seeburg 201 with wallbox are all on the block.

I also have Seeburg V & VL and KD which I may keep all three and a Continental 2 200 select with wallbox that I’m on the fence but let’s say that one of this group of four will be cut loose.

Did you get any interest in any of your jukes?

It almost sounds like you have a loose fastener someplace. Maybe on one of the shrouds.

Question for the group:

I have a client with a 1951 Seeburg Select-O-Matic 100 that says it was working but now it won't select a disc. The lights are on, you can hear the buttons click/buzz when pressed...but it isn't making a selection.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting advice?

Anybody interested in a Seeburg Bandshell? I could possibly bring it to Allentown if I have room in the truck. The control center was recently rebuilt and it was picking and playing last time I looked at it about six months ago. Maybe $650 or trade towards a pin or something?

Does the mechanism scan back and forth after making a selection, or does it not move?

Quoted from jasonspoint28:

It does not move, but when I press the test switches, it moves back and forth and plays.

#886 28 days ago

When you make a selection, a selector coil should activate one of the pins in the pinbank. This is what causes the mechanism to scan right to left. While scanning, the contact block over the pins will contact that pin, stop the scan, and transfer the record.

You might just have a bad ground at the pinbank or something simple like that. See the blue ring terminal in the 3rd pic.

Mine is a 1950 M100A, but it should be similar to yours.

Finished up my Rowe R93. Cleaned up, newly printed title strips and full of records and CDs. I built a custom over-cabinet to hold surplus 45s and display unique dust covers. I 3D printed additional title strip holders for selections 8 & 9 for each column. Added those to the over-cabinet and backlit the whole thing. When you turn the jukebox on, the over-cabinet lights up. Even threw some neon on top.

AMI wall mount jukebox. Removed from a location years ago when they upgraded to a Touchtunes jukebox. Was working at the time. Condition is fair. Only someone jimmied the lock to open it and caused some damage around the hole. Cash box door and bracket are missing(naturally!).
Free to anyone who wants it. Can bring to Allentown for Friday pickup. Can also provide an NSM wall bracket and knobs if someone wanted to mount it the NSM way.

You cleaned the brushes and commutator? Are you sure the the 2 brushes are making good contact with the armature/commutator? I had one that had issues on a Rock-Ola. With only 1 brush making good contact the motor was weak and pretty much useless. Also make sure the continuity from the brush to the outside connection is perfect.
