The switch works fine, assuming this is an opt issue?? The game says it is suppose to have 9 balls. I have all the balls in place.

Trough optos....you can test them in the switch test also you can unscrew them and use a cell phone camera to see if all of them are on. Do a search on how to test them

Broken resistor or bad opto/alignment on the ball trough. Opto could be dirty as well.

Going to go and try that now.

Balls could also be magnetized. There is that crane magnet. Would also just do a trial of running all new balls and see if you still experience the issue. If so, it was magnetized balls, Play with the new set and good to go. If you don't have some extra/ spare balls hanging around, just take them out of another machine to run the trial. Keep us posted on your findings.

Game should have 6 Balls

Definitely 6 balls are to be installed. Not sure if nine will even fit.

I had the same thing happen on my old JD. Trough opto was at fault on mine.

Once you recheck the ball count (3 are the captive balls I believe, 6 in trough) - Clean all the optos (both sender and receiver) with a q-tip or whatever. I used to have to do every once and awhile on my JD when I had it to resolve the same.
