Hi guys,

my first machine is a Judge Dredd and the planet ring is sticking/pausing... also a little squeaky. At first I thought that the 3 metal prongs that the planet ring screws into were bent and this was causing the ring to rub on the circular planet holder in the middle, but it happens even when the ring & planet cover are removed. So, since nothing visible is rubbing/preventing it from spinning, I'm not sure what to do... here are some videos, hopefully somebody can help

There is a brass gear inside the clockmotor housing that is slipping on the splined shaft. Fairly common, I'm afraid.

Ugh... way beyond my technical expertise.

Will it hurt the machine to keep playing until I get it fixed?

Not at all. As long as you don't have the Pinbits Deadworld mod it'll play ok. You may have a few cases where the ball gets stuck waiting for the ring to come around and drop the ball but thats about the only thing I can think of.

I've heard that Steve Young won't sell just the gear by itself (he wants the gearbox core and $200 for a replacement). Does anybody know where one can get a replacement gear? I've got two JD planet motors that I need to refurb...
