I have never seen my 2X Blackout flasher on the the play field ever light up. The manual says there are 2 flashers in the back box and 1 in the play field. It may be as easy as replacing the 906 lamps but I would like to know from all you JD owners when this flasher in both the play field and back box should be flashing. Is it only in Blackout mode? Do you have to do something special in Blackout mode to get these flashers on? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Put the game in test mode and see if all the lamps flash. That will at least eliminate the bulbs being burnt if they all light up. If they all work but dont light in game then its probably your rom version.
If they don't work in test mode check the bulbs then for broken wires.

I really just want to know when they are on in game mode please? Anyone?

They flash when having blackout mode activated with 2 balls on the playfield. They turn off when one ball is lost.

There's one 906 flasher for the Blackout insert. Honestly, it doesn't flash often during the mode - it's barely noticeable. I have a CT Super 906 in there and I usually don't notice it during the mode.

Mine needed some solder reflow. Take the mini-board out and see if the lamp socket is loose. (Better yet, use a multimeter.)

I just checked on my machine - in blackout mode, the 2x flasher flashes approximately once every 1.5 seconds, so it should be quite noticeable.

Yea, mine is quite noticeable during blackout mode, but I still have an incandescent flasher in there.

The transistor on the driver board that drives this flasher was fried on mine - causing it to stay on, which burned it out. Check the bulb then the transistor.
