My Judge Dredd Deadworld was rotating as normal, then slowed and quit turning at all. Ran a test and Deadworld motor has power, but Deadworld ball lock ring is locked up tight. Cant spin it with my hand even. This is a new machine for me so perhaps this is an easy fix....but it seems to not be "in gear" as the motor runs fine, it is just not engaging the ring.
Any ideas?

The Deadworld gear motor needs a rebuild. The gears are stripped. Only one who does it is Steve Young Pinball Resource. If you aren't handy or experienced you might need the help of a local pinhead for the install/re-install. Your cost for the service is about $180 plus shipping if I recall. He usually has one ready and will exchange for yours provided it is rebuildable and complete.
Too bad LSOG never did the preorder for new units that was discussed but then again the we're going to be $300.
Gear box could need rebuilding, or motor could be dead. Use a bench power supply for 12v (yellow wire of a computer PS) and isolate the motor from the gearbox. If the motor works, gearbox needs rebuilding. If not, the motor is dead. That can be found, and would be the thing to replace first, as it's much cheaper.
