Hey folks,
I just bought a JD and had it partiallr restored by a very competent pin tech (entire machine taken apart, all mechanicals replaced, new rubbers/posts, LEDs etc.)
I also bought the Pinbits Deadworld ring and ROM, as well as a new opto interrupter. The machine runs flawlessly except for the the Deadworld:
07/13/13
Had two balls locked in the Deadworld. Shot a ball up the left ramp that didn’t make it all the way around, but ended up in the lock slot instead. The Deadworld rotated around to allow for that weak-shot ball to land in the third (as yet un-occupied) slot. The crane grabbed a ball and dropped into play, but then grabbed balls two and three and dropped them into play as well. No multi-ball animation or mode started, and the ball was “over” when the first ball drained (bonus was tabulated). I allowed the other two balls to drain immediately during the bonus count-down, but the machine then dispensed three balls into the shooter lane!
SEPARATE ISSUE:
Started multi-ball with one ball physically locked from a previous game. Achieved the first lock of the current game “virtually” (shooting left ramp and having the game announce the lock but that ball remained in play). Locked the second ball physically and then sent the third ball up the ramp and began multi-ball mode. As soon as the animation started, the machine dispensed a fourth ball from the shooter lane before the crane picked the first ball up off the Deadworld.
Multi-ball play continued until the first ball drained, and then the ball was over and bonus count began. I had held the two remaining balls on a flipper at this point, and as I let each one drain the game dispensed a new ball into the shooter lane!
The only way to “cure” either of these conditions is to shut the machine down and re-boot.
Talked to my tech and he's not sure on this one.
Anyone have a theory/solution?
Thanks!
