My Judge Dredd keeps blowing fuse 116 after 20 minutes or so. Anyone got any ideas or have this problem?

#2 6 years ago

Dig out manual, see what fuse 116 protects. Then start looking for obvious shorts to those items.

Yes it says secondary 12volt... been trying ;(

#4 6 years ago

Secondary, in this case, means stuff attached to unregulated 12 volts. So your motor, your display, and so on. Anything going from J118, J117, or J116. Or it could be your bridge 5.

#5 6 years ago

This is 12Vunregulated, but does not supply an unlimited amount of current. What mods do you have connected to J116, J117 or J118? If you say LED light strips, best to connect them to an external power supply.

Yes, I bought LEDs for under the game and it is hooked up to j116.

Unhook them, I had to unhook my under cab led strip as I was blowing a fuse with them on

#8 6 years ago

Remove them and see if you have any other issues blowing out the fuse.

Sadly, most everyone who sells light strips advertised for WPC pins do not suggest installing on a separate external power supply. If they did, I think less people would be buying the product.

No blown fuses yet. Ithink that was it. Thanks for the help!

Thanks to both of you, and Lloyd. Nice job helping the guy.

Wish it did not have to be this way with the LED light strips.

#15 6 years ago

I ordered these. 2 for 11 buck. I hope this solves this issue.

Thanks for the info, I actually had no idea LED strips could do that. Seems odd, as they're not much of a load. I guess on top of everything else, it's just a little too much.

While that looks good, it will not turn on/off with the game's power switch. The power outlet in the game cabinet is always on. You will have to manually turn it on/off.

Darn, I guess I'll have to turn them off and on....

Thanks again !

#19 6 years ago

What others do is wire into the game's power switch so only one switch to do it all.

#20 6 years ago

Or put the game on a power strip and turn the strip off.

If you do this, get one with a remote control.

Thanks again to all. I got this figured out now.
