I'm having the exact same problem. He doesn't find center sometimes and the ball just kicks out. I ended up just turning of the left-right motor. Sometimes I'm really counting on the inlane to light control room. The left-right motion isn't that impressive anyway and he works consistently now. If you figure it out, I'd love to know.
