Why would Jack take this on? He is still building WOZ, will soon begin building TH and Lawlor's game is on the horizon. He has a great manufacturing facility but not unlimited capacity, so why jeopardize JJP to do contract work? At TPF, Jack said he wasn't interested in contract work. I think that is wise.

I cannot believe that someone with significant money to invest in a pinball project would willingly take on all the extra baggage associated with Jpop and these games. What is the attraction? There appears to be little in the way of must-have assets that are fully or largely developed. Why take on these entanglements rather than investing in a comparatively clean slate company like Heighway or Spooky? They may not be perfect, but you would surely be less encumbered by past sins.

Quoted from LyonsRonnie1:

It doesn't necessarily mean anything... he obviously doesn't do a good job of doing things on time, like... oh... pay taxes... deliver pinball machines... give daily updates...
He may have the money and just didn't pay them because he was busy making magic or something.

He wants the tax form and check to be absolutely perfect before he will release them.

Quoted from rai:

Did I miss the video? Or was this just a pre-announcment that there will be a video? Man I hate pre-announcements almost as much as pre-orders.

Pre.

Quoted from Hitch9:

Someone needs to get John to cut a deal with Jack of JJP, so they can get Keith and Ted to do their magic on the codes and rules for JPops machines.

I think Jack will have his hands full with WOZ still selling, The Hobbit going into production soon and Lawlor's game following. That doesn't even allow for Game #4 that is likely in the planning stage. Remember, Jack doesn't have an operation the size of Stern's - yet.

Quoted from zr11990:

TBL is 10,000.00. that is a lot of cash to me.

I paid $6500 for WOZ ECLE and $7500 for The Hobbit Smaug Edition, but $10,000 for The Big Lebowski is just too much for me. YMMV

If you get an offer to go and flip one of John's pins, DON'T DO IT! Your friends will never hear from you again. Just like those movies where people go into the haunted house and vanish. Beware!

I have seen them twice and they are not only masters of illusion, but also have an irreverent style all their own. They pay homage to the old masters and the carnies of past eras. In Reno I saw them do the infamous "bullet catch" illusion. Absolutely beautifully executed. Pun intended.

Please Bill, do NOT let John appear at any show. You need and want to put the new MG and its marketing plan in the center ring. But John will be a lightning rod for the disappointment and anger that is out there and your agenda will be lost. Divorce yourself from the ugly past and position yourselves as the best hope for the future. Only then will you have a chance to succeed.

Also, it strikes me as hard to believe that there is much of a market for a $16,000 version of MG, especially given the increased production numbers proposed.

I'm working on a nice red from Argentina. Tasty.

Best post I've seen in a long while.

Jack's pin #3 will also be an unlicensed theme by Pat Lawlor.

#12403 8 years ago
Quoted from BC_Gambit:

Yes, but IF it follows the track record of many unlicenced pins JJP will go belly up. Not hoping for this, but the reality of only making one game every 3 years or so. Every game better be a BIT hit I would think.

Or it could be a big hit. We just don't know yet.

#12422 8 years ago
Quoted from TigerLaw:

Im not sure if it is a good idea to keep it unthemed. JJP may last minute license it and I hope so. JJP needs big selling games.

I think JJP should have a strong licensed #4 ready to release on the heels of Pat Lawlor's game. Not an easy thing to do, but possible.

Quoted from CoinTaker:

JJP does. Strong designer too.
Exciting times for pinball.
