One that "incites" (rouses, stirs up or excites) perhaps?

Quoted from onelastflip:Zombie Yeti's art is absolutely amazing. I wish he was doing the art for Alien. Aurich's AC/DC backglass is nice, but this guy is in another league.
Aurich's strength is his art direction and, seeing as the images for the artwork on Alien will be provided by Fox, the license holder, he is the right man for the job. I'm sure Zombie Yeti could do some awesome Alien artwork but it likely wouldn't be approved by Fox.
Quoted from onelastflip:Why wouldn't it be approved? If he knew what the parameters were, surely he could design within them. I just think he's levels above anyone else and would love to see his stuff on more pins. Magic Girl looks SO DAMN GOOD.
Maybe it would but I imagine Fox will have their own images that they will want to see on all their licensed products, this is what happened with JJP and the Hobbit. The license holder of the Hobbit provided the images, text, everything, the artist then arranged all this stuff to create the artwork package for the pinball machine
Quoted from onelastflip:By art direction, do you mean Fox will be giving Aurich images he has to use? And then he'll lay them out on the playfield, ala Stern?
Yep, Andrew Heighway has said that they won't be using hand-drawn artwork, likely because of license constraints. I'm not sure if this has changed. Now that the Yeti is in contact with Aurich maybe we will see a collaboration, if not on Alien, maybe in the future. Aurich is a smart guy, he knows what people like and he is humble as well. I've heard him say that the images themselves aren't his strength and he really likes Yeti's work as well.
Quoted from onelastflip:I just think this guy needs to be on more pins and he's clearly got the skills to make a playfield pop.
I think a lot of people feel this way and he's on Pinside now, it's a great day, I'm sure will see his work on some playfields in the future.
Quoted from ryanwanger:Wow, sorry, I thought this would be a more coherent post, but it just turned into a bullet pointed rant.
Nope, this was the most intelligent analysis of the interview I've read so far, thanks.
Quoted from pinlink:Anyone else find it weird that there are never more than 4 in a single picture? These are supposed to be ready next week? I wonder if all 19 owners have been contacted and have plans of delivery/pickup of their game.
And are these definitely different to the ones which were in John's studio ages ago?
It is yet to be seen whether Magic Girl is:
(A) A game with a complete and reasonable physical layout which could function if there was more code.
(B) A game with a fundamentally flawed physical layout that would not function even if it had more code.
However, most of the evidence at this stage seems to point that (B) is more likely:
-John had not been involved in the creation of a functioning layout since his Williams days (and it is unclear how responsible John was for the layout of 'his' Williams games).
-The game at the NW pinball show did not have a functioning layout.
-The Houdini layout show at Expo (created by John) did not have a functioning layout.
-The early videos of the new MG games (on the Zidware website) have not shown any evidence a fully functioning layout.
-Cointaker has not posting any videos of MG functioning even though they are trying to sell one.
-Kaneda has reported that the game does not function (he may have information from those who have games in their possession (e.g. Cointaker)
If the game is indeed (B) then it is a very different case to rare games like BBB, Kingpin, King Kong and even Wizard Blocks, which all have a functioning layout.
Quoted from kvan99:Just look at Kingpin or King Kong...mediocre games but their rareness commands a huge premium.
Maybe, but if the layout doesn't work, it's a different case. Kingpin and King Kong at least have functional layouts.
