Quoted from Concretehardt:

Wait till you see what it does on the completed game

Once you patent something, it becomes public domain forever.

....Including the pictures of the patent!

Too bad you can't keep Google out of your secret squirrel club.

Quoted from lllvjr:

boom goes the dynomite lol

No harm intended.

I just feel bad for the guy on the other thread that is having difficulty selling his RAZA spot because of all of this secret fraternity crap.

Maybe I did him a favor so that he wouldn't get in trouble....?

I sincerely hope you guys eventually get your games.

Quoted from RobT:

Huh?
What does the above have to do with anything in terms of a lawsuit? Just because it's a LLC means what? The LLC (Zidware) would be liable. Not JPop personally. So?
What am I missing here?

For the lawyers:

What is the statute of limitations on a personal or class action lawsuit?

It's past three and going on four years now.

Quoted from rai:

John deliberately ran his company into the ground, I don't know why.

The last pictures posted of John didn't look too well. How is his health?

Maybe he's fighting other things, while trying to complete the impossible.

Quoted from dgarrett:

I'm surprised nobody asked me to elaborate.

Because you didn't elaborate, you led everyone to believe that there wasn't anything worth talking about based on what you saw and what you and John discussed.

If there was, why didn't you give these guys more information???

#12485 8 years ago
Quoted from dgarrett:

I agree the liabilities exceed assets by a long ways. My understanding is Pintasia is offering you to transfer your Zidware liability (i.e. your pre-order $) into Pintasia credits towards a machine by 6/30. I don't have any Pintasia terms, except what's been posted in this god-awful long thread 200 or so posts ago. Even if all customer liabilities of Zidware transfer their prepay $ to Pintasia, there are probably liabilities to vendors left against at least some of the parts ZIdware has on the shelves.
My view is that if you don't transfer your ZIdware liability to Pintasia (which also requires your agreeing to not leave any legal claim against Zidware), your liability will likely be wiped out in any collection effort after Zidware bankruptcy.
You have until June 30 to decide where the best chance of getting something - as a Zidware liability worth 0 or as a Pintasia liability that might get you a game (or at least your deposits" worth towards a game).

This is horrible, just plain horrible.

Quoted from LTG:

dgarrett just quoted herbertbsharp and it came up as quoting me ?
LTG : )

Looks like a bug with the new layout. The quote reference numbers are getting mixed up.

#12542 8 years ago
Quoted from dgarrett:

Using some round numbers, for example....

I didn't notice any profits in those numbers. Good luck on that.

#12565 8 years ago
Quoted from dgarrett:

Go back and look at wcbrandes posts - he's not in it for profit.

Okay, whatever you say boss....

#13621 8 years ago

Was this their attempt at making an incredible first impression to get more buyers on board?

I'm confused....

#13655 8 years ago

So what's the main toy in this game?

Does the patented playfield work? Will it ever?

#13745 8 years ago
Quoted from hank527:

Facts
John is going bankrupt
Game is no where near finished
Production costs are unknown
Finding investors at $16k a game without manufacturing experience may not happen
John is so toxic that people don't want to own anything with his logo anywhere
John is impossible to work with to get this finished

Let's not forget, what would be the tech support and parts for this game for years to come???

#13780 8 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

None of this makes sense...preorder, loyal customers / vendors have lost at least 6 figures, over a period of several years, but the machine can be brought to an event for what purpose?

Yes, the majority of us are confused as to why this was done.

#13794 8 years ago
Quoted from Aurich:

Huh? It's obvious why they did it. We were clambering for a reveal. So they finished it up to an alpha prototype as fast as they could to get it to a show so people could see it.

So in other words, psychotherapy.

#13952 8 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I keep seeing people allude to the idea that the point of showing this proto off was to entice more - NEW - buyers to jump into this thing and pump still more money into this raging tire fire so that there might be the funds to finish it.
Is this really true? Has anybody suggested they'll be opening this up for additional pre-orders? Are they actually doing that?

Yes!

Quoted from 27dnast:

Maybe I'm just completely out of touch, but this notion of creating ultra-rare, super-duper-crazy-insane special, machines is weird. Whatever happened to pressing start and justing playing games?

That's because up until all of these boutique scams, apparently the only person that collected pinball machines on Pinside was me.

Oh my bad, I was the only person not ashamed to admit it.

#14703 8 years ago
Quoted from chessiv:

You don't know Gene very well. I worked very closely with him as did a number of other people here. Gene was not a great businessman and had zero experience manufacturing anything let alone a pinball machine. You're looking at the result and making a lot of bad assumptions about how it got there. Ask some of the people close to the project. Even with all the parts BBB would not have been completed without some hard working, smart pinheads that jumped in and got it on track. One of which Kerry, Gene screwed in the end. So yeah, for some reason there are too many shady characters in pinball.

It was a nightmare indeed.

#14704 8 years ago
Quoted from GLModular:

PPS would do much better to re-run BBB. They have all of the assets.....

He does? Who told you that? I'll let Rick chime in on that one.

#14727 8 years ago
Quoted from benheck:

I'd agree the prototype would be the most valuable thing at auction by a long shot.
Original pinball IP can have value if it's earned it (BBB, AFM, MM, ToM) but MG has no nostalgia, no cache - it's just a generic concept plastered on a failed pinball machine of which zero were produced. RAZA has less than no value - the Mars Attacks, Robbie and Godzilla imagery make it a liability. AIW is an interpretation of a public domain book. Point is - there will be no windfall for creditors from any sale of Zidware IP.

Only the patents would have value, in my opinion.

#14976 8 years ago
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

This is akin to saying "she shouldn't have dressed like that".

Speaking of which, a HUGE thank you to whoever invented Freddy Jeans!

Good lawd!!!

#15194 8 years ago
Quoted from swinks:

a few pages back people wondered if he would turn up to a show in the future. If this is him, it looks like he is up to date to pinside and what everyone thinks.
notice the last seen date - today

Maybe, maybe not.

I have a gazillion passwords to remember, so I never bother logging off.

Something that should have stayed locked in the closet.

Quoted from teekee:

He may be the only bigger loser than John Pop-a-dick.

Correction: It's "Pop-a-Duke." He bent these guys over.

Get it right!

#15359 8 years ago
Quoted from MrBally:

Pinball related, I almost got robbed but here's how I handled it;
At Expo many years ago, during the Make-A-Wish charity auction, an item was announced for bids. While not available to take with the winning bidder, it was mentioned that the winner need only pay Bridget Berk (she was collecting all winning bids) and supply your address and the item would be promptly shipped to the winner.
Well, I won the item. I promptly paid for it and wrote down the particulars.
Six weeks go by and nothing arrives. This was pre-email days so I called the item donor (his number is public knowledge) as he is a well-known pinhead. No answer so I leave a message. Funny, no reply. I leave another message a week later. This time, a reply, on my answering machine. Even though I gave him my cell first as well as home number. He said he was running behind but would ship it "soon". Another month passes with nothing.
I travel a lot for my job, A month later, I happened to be within an hour of the guy so at around 6 pm, I cruise over to his place in my rental car. His address is well known as well. He was not home so I wrote a nice, non-threatening note mentioning how I am in the area for my job and thought I'd stop by and pick the item up. It would save him the hassle of boxing and shipping it etc. I mentioned that I could stop by either of the next two days. If he wasn't around, he could leave it outside in a box for me etc. Nowhere in my note did I mention how he appeared to be stalling\unprofessional\not satisfying his commitment from a kids' charity auction from four months earlier etc. I wrote my cell number down and asked him to give me jingle. I put the note in a large 9x12 envelope and taped it in plain view to his side door which he obviously would see judging by driveway marks and footprints in the snow.
The next day he calls me and apologizes. He said he would ship it that day. He indeed did and all is well.
Maybe those who are close by or can easily get close by should simply knock on a door and ask for their money back or an explanation.

This sounds like some John Kosmal shit.

#15617 8 years ago
Quoted from Concretehardt:

Maybe John and Kevin could combine forces... Skit B/Zidware = SKITWARE??

More like SKIDWEAR...

#15995 8 years ago
Quoted from rommy:

Yup. He could potentially just get a second mortgage and pay off all the plaintiffs and be done with it. That would allow him to keep Zidware going.

Considering that he could have done that to get the project off the ground, I don't see that happening.
